Lucharaaaaan! Welcome to another episode of ¡Mucha Lucha!, in our Summer TV Binge, today we are reviewing the third episode, which includes “Woulda Coulda Hasbeena” and “The Anger of Cindy Slam”. And as every week here’s a song for you, this time it’s gonna be a classic: Los Luchadores from La Sonora Santanera. Let me tell you, if you know this song you are an honorary Mexican, you will be welcomed to all our parties. Now that the ring is ready, let’s start this review:

1. Recaps

In “Woulda Coulda Hasbeena” the teacher is having a midlife crisis, he misses being of the ring fighting Groova Loocha, back in the seventies he lost his chance of becoming a legend, don’t be surprised if he uses a breach in time to go back to try to win that figth!

On the second episode, “The Anger of Cindy Slam”, Las Tres Mascaritas have to spend some time with the crankiest classmate in the school and they’re forced to make a 4-way tag team.

2. This Is So Ludicrous!

You know what I like about animated series? Weirdness. That’s why I miss Regular Show and Gravity Falls because they were weird series. But also, it MUST have verisimilitude; you can’t make a weird series for the sake of being weird. That’s why I hate Uncle Grandpa. That being said, ¡Mucha Lucha! is absolutely weird, I mean, who would thought that to travel back in time all you needed was a light bulb and a pinball? I was laughing my ass off because of the ludicrousness of this episode. I just wish it was a little longer.

3. The Classic Solution To Your Paradox

You know, If I ever have the opportunity to work on any series, I would NEVER dare to do a time travel-episode. I just can’t stand my mind thinking about all the implications messing with time travel has. I still feel weird about the paradoxes in The Flash season 1, just imagine what this third season did to my mind.

But there’s a solution to this: if you do time travel, close the loop. If Hasbeena wants to avoid the flashing that made him lose the fight, let him be that light source. It’s so simple, you simply can’t change your past.

4. Piñata of Doom (nothing to do with the thought, just loved that name)

There comes a moment in life when you have to stick with the scary person in your work or school, whatever the reason it is. And you can either be scared and try to not mess things up (which you will), or you can talk to that person, be clear and honest, and you will succeed.

It’s funny to see Rikochet and The Flea trying to get along with Cindy Slam by forcing her to be with them, but at the end of the episode, when they talk straight with her, she’s the nicest person on the world. Who said you were not going to learn something with this cartoon? Now go ahead, and be honest with that closed person in your world, he/she is going to thank you.

5. Gerbil Jorge’s Mass World of Lucha, Fun and Wrestletainment

I think this dialogue happened:

Writer: “Hey man, how would you name Mickey Mouse in a mexican town?”
Producer: Well we can’t name it Ratón Miguelito, it’s trademarked
Writer: So, we need a Mexican Name and another Rodent
Producer: How about Jorge?
Writer: How about Gerbil?
Producer: Gerbil Jorge! HAHA!
Writer: DONE!

Well, if that happened… that was weird.

And that’s it for today, let us know, what do you think of this episode of ¡Mucha Lucha! (and any other series from our Summer TV Binge) on the comments below. See you next Friday.
