Hi folks! Welcome back to our weekly recap of The Flash. This is week four of the “Armageddon” event, but it also could be called “Reverse-Flashpoint,” and, I’ll admit it, even thought last week I said I was tired of them always using Thawne, I enjoyed this episode, it was all the cheesy I need in my life, let’s dive in!
1. Reverse Flashpoint
It’s ten years in the future and Team Flash is having a party to celebrate the upcoming wedding of The Flash and Iris West, except that it is Eobard Thawne who is the Flash in this future, and Barry Allen is very much unwelcomed to the party, mainly because he is Reverse Flash! Whaaaat!
Barry tries to talk to the team, but they slowly start kicking his ass, he kidnaps Iris and tries to talk to her, but she is really scared of him, when they finally are alone, Eobard Thawne reveals that he went to the past and changed a lot of things in order to become Flash, if he cannot defeat him at least he can be him.
By the way, I am in in this story, it seems something that the villain would do, but aren’t they forgetting that Eddie Thawne existed? and that he was an ancestor of Eobard, and he was Iris’ boyfriend when the Flash began?
2. A new Team Flash
Eobard has recruited a whole new team flash which includes the current members, but also has Alex Danvers (Sentinel), Ryan Choi (the Atom), and Ryan Wilder (Batwoman). It was interesting seeing how Thawne acted as a leader of the team, He gives consistent instructions to every member of the team to act as effective as possible, but he seems to forget to show appreciation for them sometimes.
But the team is really effective we see that when Sentinel and Batwoman kick Barry’s ass, and also when Cecile with the mask of Psycho Pirate briefly fights against Barry and Damien Darhk.
3. New couples
This was an opportunity to check in on the future of the relationships of the team, mainly the ones that have been teased these and past season, after the first fight in the party Frost and Chilblaine came out of the bathroom, where they were enjoying themselves, and then they seemed to work well as a fighting duo.
But the most important one what’s the relationship between Allegra and Chuck, here we are updated on a possible future of theirs, they had a date, didn’t work and ended up as just friends, but Chester reveals that he wanted a lot more, he fell in love, it was Allegra the one who got scared of having a relationship. at the end they reveal their feelings for each other and it’s a very hilarious scene seeing Caitlin amazed by their kiss.
4. Damien Darhk is back
The Legends of Tomorrow and Sara Lance’s archnemesis is alive in this future, he even has allied With Reverse Flash/Barry previously, and that’s why our hero on peril, recurs to him for help, Darhk eventually realizes that this is not the villain he knows.
Fortunately, Barry shows him his past, where he sacrificed himself to save his daughter, and even though he is a villain Damien decides to sacrifice himself again to save the reality where Nora Darhk is alive.
5. The Paragon of Love
At the end, Barry has to run up to Mach 20 to undo every alteration that Eobard had done, He’s skeptical about being able to do it but weirdly enough it is Damian Darhk who encourages him telling him that he is the Paragon of Love, and their love has done miracles before.
All this time Iris has been seriously affected by how the alleged villain Barry Allen has been acting and when he visits her again to tell her that he is going to cause Armageddon in order to save the reality she decides to give a leap of faith, betraying her fiancé Eobard, this gives Barry the time and the strength to restore everything and even though he Gus is the Armageddon it is erased once the reality returns to normal.
Now everybody is happy, Joe is alive, the team is doing well, and Barry can be happy again, at least until next week when we get the last part of the Armageddon event, Eobard is pissed, and he won’t go out without a fight.
