Hi folks! Welcome back to our weekly recap of The Flash. This week’s episode was great! And is named “Cause and XS”! Let’s dive right in.

1. The Cure. (No, not the band)

This episode began with Cisco stalking that girl from the bar working hard on the cure, then, the chemistry is done, but there’s a problem. Back in S.T.A.R. Labs he tells the team that the cure, for some reason need 29 days to be 100% done. (By the way, it’s always a glowy gizmo).

Sherloque proposes that Barry enters the Speed Force, because the tachyons could help age the cure, just like any alcoholic beverage, and in that case, they just need 60 minutes, after all, what could go wrong in just an hour? Barry goes and everybody go do their stuff.

2. Cicada kidnaps Iris

Iris went to her new offices, but then… freaking Cicada breaks in an confronts her. He reveals that he knows who she is, and he is going to end his hunt tonight, before knocking her out.

3. Cisco’s Date

Meanwhile, Cisco is anxious about his first real date since breaking up with gypsy, and Ralph is here to help. Back in the second episode of this season, he shows off his “Book of Ralph” with tips for every situation, last time was getting over a breakup and this time, it’s The Art of War Love, which is definitely NOT plagiarizing Sun Tzu.

Cisco gets a little self-conscious, after seeing the kind of guys Kamilla dates with, and he goes to the date with a Cocky persona. The date was going bad and got worse when he gets Iris’ distress signal and bails on the girl.

4. He killed Killer Frost!

Back in the roof of Iris’s office, Cicada throws his dagger, and ends up killing Caitlin! His plan works perfectly, now, no one is going to stop him!

Nora, feeling guilty for not being able to look after the team while his father was gone, runs away fast, and she ends up back in time, in S.T.A.R. Labs, the moment after his dad went off. By the way, that “going back in time” scene, with Nora running and the kids with the balloons, was amazing, I really liked how they portrayed going back in time.

3. Cisco’s Date… wait, déjà vu

Meanwhile, Cisco is anxious about his first real date since breaking up with gypsy, and Ralph is here to help. But Nora changes the way everything happened and saves her mother, but Sherloque is suspicious of Nora’s nervousness, he goes to Iris’ office, and Cicada kidnaps him.

Cisco has some vibes of the date going wrong, he goes to the date faking his persona again, the date goes wrong indeed, and he bails on Kamilla, again.

4. He killed Cisco! And Cecile! And everybody!

Responding to the distress signal, Cisco ends up killed by Cicada, this time for real. Nora goes back in time and we got a Groundhog Day situation.

I didn’t see that coming, this time loop plot device came out of nowhere, given the direction this episode seemed to be taking. Usually when you see a movie involving a time loop, you know that’s going to happen, this time it caught me by surprise, which is why I loved it.

5. The team break the loop

Anyways, after 52 attempts, —yes, fifty-fucking-two!— Team Flash realized that Nora is caught in a time loop, thanks to Cisco’s vibes and Sherloque’s deduction. They come up with a plan to use the loop itself and Nora’s notes, to maybe finally stopping Cicada.

They show up in the roof, and Nora runs turning time back, the dagger returns to Cicada, but she pushes him, causing it to stab his owner. He is badly injured but manages to flee.

Flash comes back with the cure done, and they tell him what happened, then he talks to Nora and warns her that she broke the time-continuum too many times, and there are going to be consequences sooner or later.

Finally, in the cliffhanger scene, she comes back to the future and confronts Thawne, he tells her that he is the only speedster that knows what he’s doing and orders her to stick to the, finally revealed, but previously implied plan: Defeat Cicada, and the Flash is going to be safe.

BONUS: In the last scene, after Nora showed her notes to the team, Sherloque was finally able to cypher her diary, the cat is out of the bag now. Sadly, we won’t know what happens next in a while, the show is taking a two-week hiatus.

So, we will see each other again March 5th, with the previously teased episode of “King Shark vs. Gorilla Grodd”! In the meanwhile, what did you think of this episode? Leave your comments below, see you in three weeks!
