Hi folks! Welcome back to our weekly recap of The Flash. This week’s episode is named “Enemy At the Gates” and Goodspeed is back again, but this time he has company! This is going to be a weird episode to talk about because besides the main plot, we had other four short storylines. Let’s dive right in!

1. Baby West-Allen is coming… eventually

This episode began with Nora West-Allen, coming back to Barry in a dream, this convinced him that they are already pregnant, he talks to Iris who seems to be feeling bad and didn’t appear in the episode for the second time in a row, then he goes on a mission to make the tests to confirm the pregnancy.

But we are talking about meta children, so regular tests won’t do. And if he speeds to S.T.A.R. Labs the samples would decompose, so he had to drive, then Godspeed interrupted him but at the end of the episode he finally was able to get the results and…

They are negative, Barry was sad, but Cecile encouraged him to keep trying, getting pregnant is not an easy task, but they shouldn’t stop trying because of one bad result, besides, we already know that future Nora and Bart are coming for the end of the season.

2. Oh no, not you again, Godspeed

As you know, I dislike this character, well, not the villain per se, but I haven’t been enjoying his stories so far, he hasn’t really been a concerning villain for the Flash, the original was defeated in one episode, and they have been beating clones/drones for two years, including the season premiere of the sixth season and “Pay the Piper.”

Here we discover that there are not one, nor two, but six versions of Godspeed, and the whole episode featured them messing with the city and hunting down Barry, they end up at S.T.A.R. Labs and the whole team is in trouble.

Just when they seem to be about to kill everybody, Barry manages to get them out of the building and is almost defeated, when another six Godspeeds appear and they start fighting, he is not saved by them, instead they are fighting together, so, this might mean there’s a Godspeed Civil War coming to Team Flash.

3. Chillin’ with Chillblaine

Meanwhile, Frost is stalking Mark Blaine, her argument is that he’s still a criminal, but ultimately, she is attracted to him, and the dude knows it. Frost saves him from being killed by a gang, but he is wounded, and they end up at S.T.A.R. Labs to heal Blaine.

Mark offers Frost to help with the Godspeeds problem, but she wants him to fully commit to being a good guy, and he obviously is not ready for that. Frost decides to trust him and gives him back his Chillblaine armor.

After their fight together against a pair of the villain speedsters, they are chilling at the balcony, and they begin flirting but the dude causes a little explosion and when Frost is distracted, he flees, after all, he is a bad guy and is not planning on changing that.

I like this character, I mean, he is a bad guy and is extremely cocky, but they are forming a good relationship and the dynamic between Danielle Panabaker and Jon Cor is enticing. If I’m not wrong, I assume that they will end up having a relationship, so we’ll see more of Chillblain next season.

4. The only scenario where saying “take off your face mask” is a good thing

Imagine this, you have to convince a member of your family to receive surgery, they don’t trust the doctors because of their past experiences, then, when you finally convince them, Godspeed comes and attempts to kill you.

That’s basically the plot between Allegra and Esperanza/Ultraviolet, she needs to get removed her mask and her cousin convinces her that she will be safe in the hands of Caitlin Snow, and she delivers, despite the Godspeed invasion. I wonder if Esperanza is becoming a regular of the show or the story will end here.

5. On the hunt for Adam Krake

Joe and Kramer talk about the history between her and Adam, her partner and friend in the army. She reveals that they both belong to the Wet’suwet’en Nation —by the way, actress Carmen Moore also belongs to that indigenous community—. Kramer tells how this guy put out bombs for their unit and he knew that he could die with them if it wasn’t for his meta powers.

She also tells Joe how she disliked the water, but he wanted to be a Marine, with that, Joe finds a trace and they resolve to follow Adam’s track, they travel and do stakeout, but at the end of the episode their car explodes, maybe with them inside, so, we won’t know their fate until next week.

And that’s it for today, it was a packed episode! Five different stories in just one hour of television, the pieces are coming together for the season finale in three weeks.
