To celebrate our “20 Years of Hellboy” art contest, which gives every fan with some ambition and a modicum of artistic talent a chance to have their work published in an upcoming Mignolaverse issue, as well as take home some sweet prizes, we decided to bring in some ringers, to show us how they interpret everyone’s favorite kind-hearted devil spawn. We will be posting pieces each day for this entire month, so enjoy our 31 Days of Hellboy!

Steve Lieber and Jonathan Case are two of our favorite artists, and were two of the first creators we approached for this month. They are both insanely busy, but were able to contribute this commission they had worked on together, which we think is pretty incredible.
Lieber, the penciller of the above image, is the artist on “Superior Foes of Spider-Man” for Marvel, and was recently nominated for an Eisner for “Alabaster: Wolves,” which was put out by Dark Horse. Congratulations, Steve! He is a member of Periscope Studio, you can visit his website, his Facebook, and follow him on Twitter (@steve_lieber).
Case, the inker of the Hellboy image, is one of the regular artists on “Batman ’66” for DC Digital, and was the illustrator of “The Creep” for Dark Horse. He also had a story appear in Dark Horse’s “Eerie” series, and is the writer/artist of “Dear Creature” and the artist on “Green River Killer,” two phenomenal graphic novels. He is also a member of Periscope Studio, and can be found at his website or on Twitter (@Jonathan_Case).
