Guardians of the Galaxy is coming August 1, and July is going to be a celebration of all things Guardians AND a special benefit art month for Bill Mantlo here at Multiversity. All month, we’ll be posting Guardians-related pieces created by some of our favorite artists, and at the end of the month there will be an auction of many of the pieces of original art to help the man who created Rocket Raccoon, Bill Mantlo. It’s going to be an exciting month, but you can help Bill even if you don’t bid on any art. Read more about Bill and his story here, and if you feel moved to donate to Bill yourself, you can do so by clicking here.

What’s that, you say? Two Rocket Raccoons from Charles Paul Wilson III, artist on “The Stuff of Legend” for Th3rd World Studios and “Wraith” for IDW? Indeed! You also may have seen his pin-ups and variant covers for “The Manhattan Projects,” “The Avengers,” and “GI Joe,” among others, which run the gamut from playful to terrifying, and everything in between. He is a part of Ten Ton Studios, has a kickass deviantArt page, and make sure to follow him on Twitter (@cpwilsoniii) and buy some of his original art at Comic Art House. And, apparently, he lives in New Jersey, which makes him automatically my favorite artist of the day.

Charles’s uncolored piece will be auctioned off later this summer to benefit Bill Mantlo. Stay tuned for auction information!

If you are a professional artist interested in donating a piece for the auction, please email brian@multiversitycomics.com or david@multiversitycomics.com for more details.
