Gobble gobble! The watchful, completely objective and correct gaze of Soliciting Multiversity now falls upon Marvel’s crop of titles for February! Check out our picks below and let us know what stuck out to you in the comics.
10. Monthly Solicitation Sleuthing

As per usual, we try to look into some of the particulars of Marvel’s solicitations to look towards the future. This month, the trade for “X-Men ’92” is labeled #0 which means we’re probably going to see an ongoing or limited series out of this, especially since not many of the “Secret Wars” trades came with a #0 label besides other continuing ones like “A-Force.” While “X-Men ’92” wouldn’t exactly be my first choice for a continued “Secret Wars” series (‘sup Future Imperfect), we’re glad to see former MC fella Chad Bowers possibly getting more Marvel work, if our prediction comes true.
X-MEN ’92 VOL. 0: WARZONES! TPB
Written by CHRIS SIMS & CHAD BOWERS
Penciled by SCOTT KOBLISH
Cover by PEPE LARRAZ
Revisit a blue-and-golden age for the X-Men in Battleworld’s most animated realm! The ’90s-era team is as uncanny as ever: Professor X, Cyclops, Storm, Wolverine, Rogue, Gambit and — yes! — Jubilee. And when the Clear Mountain Project purports to offer evil mutants a chance at rehabilitation, it’s up to the X-Men to investigate! As things go wrong, they’ll face some of their decade’s fiercest foes, like Cyber and Omega Red — but who on Battleworld is the Shadow Queen?! With the X-Men in deep trouble, will anyone step up to save the domain of Westchester from a future of fear and hatred? How about an X-Force ’92 lineup featuring Cable, Deadpool, Domino, Psylocke, Archangel and Bishop? Could this totally tubular tale be any more ’90s? Collecting X-MEN ’92 (2015) #1-4.

9. Merc With The Most

I’m stupidly on board with the latest volume of “Deadpool.” Gerry Duggan’s quickly establishing himself as one of my favorite writers for Wade Wilson by making him(?) a corporate figurehead in charge of his own team of mercenaries in Deadpool gear. Issue #7 also serves as the character’s 25th anniversary so it’s interesting to see how far along the character’s come since whatever he was on the cover of “New Mutants” #98. Personally, I’d recommend this comic as a jumping on point for anyone who hasn’t been keeping up witht this storyline, especially since its going to include Ben Acker and Ben Blacker of Thrilling Adventure Hour.

• Twenty-five years ago in February 1991, the New Mutants encountered a blabber mouthed mercenary who tore through Xavier’s mansion and into the very heart of the 1990s. Now, that self-same degenerate is one of the most popular heroes in the world, an Avenger, and maybe the smelliest and grossest person that tumblr swoons over. Come see how Deadpool reacts to life at the top of the world…(hint: he does not handle it well). PLUS: A full array of stories from Deadpool’s new allies, the members of the Mercs for Money! Oh…and I think there is, like…some other Deadpool thing this month people are excited about? I forget what.

8. Oh My God Stature

I don’t have a better headline than that, I’m so excited. Cassie Lang’s resurrection has been a little underwhelming since she came back as a middle schooler(?) and gave up her superhero persona. But now, “Astonishing Ant-Man” #5 is going to actually tackle that side of the character again. I hope we see Stature again, if only so she can visit The Vision’s new creepy household, glance at his Jonasish teenage son, and just check the hell out.

Darryl “DMC” McDaniels is writing a Marvel comic in 2015. What a time to be alive.

6. Oh Hellcat Yeah

After how great she’s been in Jessica Jones, I feel like “Patsy Walker, AKA Hellcat!” is going to get a ton of support from those loving Rachael Taylor on that show. Also, I love how more and more “everyday” comics are getting nowadays. Patsy Walker should not get superpowers until this comic’s 80th issue, after which it is immediately cancelled.

5. Mo’ Money Mo’ Mercs

Marvel, please take that headline and rename this mini-series for that. I expect nothing in return save for you casting me as Wiccan in whatever plans you’ve got for Young Avengers.
Anyway, like I said earlier in this column I’ma big fan of the Corporate Deadpool concept going on in “Deadpool” proper and I feel like this’ll be a fun extension of that.

4. Alive With The Glory of Mutants

Max Bemis’s domination of comics continues with this new miniseries with Michael Walsh. This all looks pretty good, but I’m sad “X-Men” Worst X-Man Ever” isn’t just the name of Cyclops’s new series.
>X-MEN: WORST X-MAN EVER #1 (OF 5)
MAX BEMIS (W) MICHAEL WALSH (A/C)
Bailey Hoskins has just discovered he’s a mutant. For someone who’s never been special, never stood out, discovering he’s “gifted” is truly a gift—entry into the halls of Xavier’s School for Gifted Children and into the ranks of the world-famous X-Men! Unfortunately…Bailey might just be the worst X-Man ever. Max Bemis, frontman of the band Say Anything, kicks off his first Marvel miniseries by teaming with stellar artist Michael Walsh (SECRET AVENGERS, HANK JOHNSON) to bring us the story of a misfit among misfits.

Miles Morales is in the 616, after approximately four years of everyone begging for that to happen. I’ve got nothing but idealist hopes for this. Miles Morales is pure milk and his continued longevity is one of my favorite parts of Marvel, especially since they gave his book the title “Spider-Man” not “Ultimate Spider-Man who we have to stress is not Peter Parker.” Dreams come true, bro.

1. I’ve Got The Power Man And Iron Fist

Like Miles in “Spider-Man”, I’ve got nothing but heart emojis for this book. We covered this earlier when the book was first DC Comics spotlight panel, but the concept and design for “Power Man and Iron Fist” is just fresh to death. I’ve been a bit off the Marvel wagon since “Secret Wars” derailed everything for a couple months, but with books like “Power Man & Iron Fist”, “Spider-Man”, and “Patsy Walker, AKA Hellcat!”, Marvel’s future is looking pretty bright. Until Civil War 2: The Legislation Strikes back happens, I guess.
