Back Issues #1: Top 3 Things You Won’t Find In Jonathan Hickman’s New Avengers [Comic]

Here’s a fun little factoid: for some time now, Multiversity has been attempting to put a web strip together. Just something fun, simple, topical and potentially humorous, in the vein of strips I love like Lets Be Friends Again or Comic Critics. And while I may never be as funny as Curt, Chris, Sean and Brandon, I figured we could at least try. So when the column Walter Richardson and I used to do, Weekend Week in Review, ended last year (because, honestly, it was quite difficult to keep up with), we eventually figured out that doing this strip could be a form of having our cake and eating it too. Maybe even having two cakes!

So now that 2013 has kicked off, without further ado, our first strip for what we hope to maintain as a new weekly webstrip here on Multiversity – Back Issues. And please give a warm, warm welcome to our artist, Andrea Vásquez!

Last week, Jonathan Hickman took over what has been Brian Bendis’ seminal Marvel title since the tail end of 2004. Quite a big set of britches to fill! Of course, some differences are to be expected. Makes you wonder what sort of things Hickman will be dropping from the Title That Bendis Built?

Matthew Meylikhov and Walter Richardson used to make bad jokes in Weekend Week in Review. Now they make them in Back Issues.

Andrea Vásquez is a young artist from Chile, and is much more talented than both Matt and Walt. You can see her work on DeviantArt, Tumblr and the webcomic Batgirl Incorporated.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
