This week, the nominees for the 2022 Eisner Awards, honoring the best comics of 2021, were announced. It included the category Best Continuing Series, which gave us a mix of old and new nominees: “Bitter Root,” “The Department of Truth,” “Immortal Hulk,” “Nightwing,” and “Something is Killing the Children.”
“Bitter Root” previously won the award in 2020, and was nominated last year alongside “The Department of Truth,” but both lost out to “Usagi Yojimbo.” “Immortal Hulk” was previously nominated in 2020 and 2019, while “Something is Killing the Children” was nominated for Best New Series in 2020. “Nightwing,” which was this year’s most lauded series, with five nominations, was another newcomer, as Tom Taylor and Bruno Redondo’s acclaimed run only began early last year.
So tell us: which of these series should win? Should “Bitter Root” triumph again, or should “Immortal Hulk” finally bag the prize, despite the controversy that overshadowed its brilliance in its final year? Vote in our poll below, and be sure to check back for the results on Monday.
