Reader Poll: What is the Best “Shazam!” Comic?

Today marks the release of the Shazam! movie, and by many accounts (including our own review), it is well worth the wait. What that in mind, we wanted to know: what is your favorite Billy Batson comic book? This question is easier to ask than you might think: while Shazam (or Captain Marvel as he was then known) has been around for almost as long as Superman or Batman, the character’s appearances through the decades have been more sporadic (including a complete disappearance from 1953 to 1972), meaning it’s often been a case of quality over quantity.

To level the playing field a little, we omitted “Kingdom Come,” which is arguably the most popular comic in the past 25 years to feature Billy Batson, but one that would be inaccurate to call a true Shazam/Captain Marvel comic. We’ve also left out Geoff Johns and Dale Eaglesham’s current run, as we’re here to celebrate the past comics which made the movie possible. So vote below, and be sure to tell us in the comments if you have any favorites we might have missed!
