On Friday, we asked you what your favorite Alan Moore comic was, in light of his recent retirement. While the competition was stiff, the results are in: 20.5% of you fine folks selected Moore’s Swamp Thing run as your favorite Alan Moore work. The closest competitor was “Watchmen,” which brought in 19.2% of the vote. “From Hell” had 10.6%, “The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen” had 8.6%, and “V for Vendetta” and “Batman: The Killing Joke” tied to round out the Top 5 with 6.6%.

This is a relatively nice cross-section of Moore’s most popular work, and as a list, works nicely as a primer to introduce yourself to the work of Moore, if you are not familiar with his work.

Some of our readers expressed, through Twitter and comments, that we should have included more of Moore’s UK work, specifically his 2000AD work. They’re right! That was an oversight on our part, and we promise to try better next time.
