Buying comics can be an expensive hobby. A lot of fans simply can’t afford everything they’re interested in, due to rising prices and the over-saturation of the market with superhero titles.
That’s why we’re here. Every week, the Multiversity staff is asked “What would you buy this week if you couldn’t go over $20?” and shares their reasons why, in order to help others who might have similar tastes make their own decisions in buying comics on a budget. Be sure to leave your own picks in the comments!

Leo’s Picks:
Saints #6 ($2.99) – “Saints” has been a really interesting read so far, with modern day reincarnations of various saints facing off against religious groups, and then there’s a death metal band that is helping the Saints out. This issue promises to reveal how the Saints came to be and what their purpose is, so it should definitely be another must read.
Just Another Sheep #5 ($3.99) – “Just Another Sheep” wraps up with this issue. I remember reading this comic in its early days as webcomic, so seeing it get to tell the complete story at Action Lab is pretty neat.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #1 ($3.99) – Maybe it’s nostalgia or maybe it’s the killer creative team or maybe it’s that the Green Ranger is looking pretty badass on that cover, but I’m weirdly excited about this comic. Power Rangers and comics seem like a perfect fit, so it should be a lot of fun seeing what they do with the book.
Total: $11.97

Keith’s Picks:
Batgirl #49 ($2.99) – Events are getting curiouser and curiouser in “Batgirl”. Babs and her supporting cast have been juggled quite artfully in this title.
Swamp Thing #3 ($2.99) – Any book with Kelley Jones art is cause for celebration and this miniseries has not disappointed so far. If any veteran artist deserves to be on a title once Rebirth hits, then Jones should definitely be one of them.
Omega Men #9 ($2.99) – The end is near for this title, yet here’s to hoping that writer Tom King is able to get his grip on the character of Kyle Rayner once again after Rebirth.
Midnighter #10 ($2.99) – With the addition of the Suicide Squad in last month’s issue and a badass fight sequence between Midnighter and a formidable opponent, this issue is bound to have some exciting revelations.
Total: $11.96 – It’s a pretty light week, so maybe pick up a trade of some title that you’ve procrastinated about getting and give it a try.

Matt Garcia’s Picks:
DC: Bombshells Vol. 1 — Enlisted ($16.99) – For all their problems in their main universe line, DC does a surprisingly consistent job with their Digital First titles. This collects the first 18 issues of “Bombshells,” a sweeping WWII epic where the girls became the superheroes. There’s always a lot going on and having all of it in one go will undoubtedly help you keep track of everything. Also, it’s a whole lot of fun with a bunch of great artists really developing a wide and esoteric alternate world.
Total: $16.99.
