There are three for-sure things all people love in life: comic covers, cover bands, and MS Paint. Some warned us to never combine this holy trinity. We here at Multiveristy Comics said no, threw caution to the wind, and combined mankind’s three favorite things into our new weekly feature: MS Masterpaint Theater! Each week, we will highlight some of the best comic cover art by recreating those masterpieces in the artist’s ultimate tool, MS Paint.

Welcome to this week of MS Master Paint Theater. Before we enjoy this week’s masterpieces, let’s run over the rules again real quick.

Rules: 

1. Must use MS Paint. 
2. Must use mouse and keyboard. 
3. No tips, tricks, or hints. 
4. 1 hour per piece. 
5. Each piece will be rated on a scale of 1 to 10.

Honestly, who does not like Sophie Campbell’s turtles? She is able to get so much emotion and life out of them. Also, they are so fucking cute. Sophie’s cover debuts the return of fan favorite pepperoni resting on top of that rude dude. It is not an overly complex cover but it’s again what Sophie does so well. She focuses on moments and emotions and gets every drop out of it. Also, he is so fucking cute!!

If there is one skill you need as a turtle it has to be how to make an appropriate mask. My turtle skipped that lesson and decided man I really need one big eye hole and another smaller eye hole. Perfect for sneaking and poor depth perception. My pepperoni is not bad but that’s because I would never ever do anything to harm that sweet sweet thing. Although mine looks like they are packing way more inside their trunk.
