You saw Dark Horse, DC and Marvel – but what about the other Soliciting Multiversity staple, Image Comics? Never fear, my friends: their time has arrived! These solicits came out a bit later than everything else, but better late than never, right?
For the full solicits, check out Comic Book Resources.
BEDLAM!

We had the opportunity to show off the cover of “Bedlam” #1 in advance, but now we can provide you the solicit information as well. This upcoming series comes from Riley Rossmo and Nick Spencer, two of our absolute favorites here at Multiversity, and you can bet your buttons that this series is going to be pretty killer.

Fillmore Press was once Madder Red, a homicidal maniac and criminal overlord who terrorized the town of Bedlam for years. Then he got better. This is what happens next.
A double-sized introduction to a blood-soaked cityscape of murder, mayhem, and mystery by NICK SPENCER (MORNING GLORIES, THIEF OF THIEVES) and RILEY ROSSMO (REBEL BLOOD, GREEN WAKE)!
Just in time for Halloween, eh? Spooky, scary!
MULTIPLE WARHEADS!

I can’t remember how long ago it was that I first heard about “Multiple Warheads,” but it has seemed one of those projects that Brandon Graham has always been working on. After the greatness that was “King City” and the greatness that is “Prophet,” the announcement of the book by Graham finally coming out is an exciting announcement indeed.
Take a look at the solicit:

Sexica and her Werewolf boyfriend Nikoli travel across a sci-fi, fantasy Russia smoking singing cigarettes.
Meanwhile the organ hunter Nura is sent out with a severed head and instructions to find its body.
Subtitled ‘Alphabet to Infinity,’ “Multiple Warheads” is coming out as a four-issue miniseries that seems to have the potential to be the first part of a few series under that name. While the book will certainly read excellent in trade, I’d urge you all to put in your pre-orders for the single issues on this one. 48 pages of comics for $3.99? That’s a damn great deal.
Halloween Eve Comes To Image

You may have heard of the Halloween Eve Kickstarter (ending this Friday!), but if you haven’t the gist is this: Amy Reeder is illustrating a comic written by Brandon Montclare, and you want to buy it. Pretty simple, right?
Ok, fine, we can give you a bit more: “Halloween Eve” is about a young girl named Eve working at a costume shop on Halloween when things become to come to life. Is it real? Is it her over-active imagination? Can she save the world in time to hand out candy to trick or treaters? There’s only one way to find out, true believers, and that is to buy the comic in October. And hey, maybe this will make a good treat to give out to the neighborhood kids as they come by instead of candy to rot their teeth, eh?
Plus, it’s illustrated by Amy Reeder and written by Brandon Montclare. What else do you need to know?
Your October Graphic Novel Is Ready For You, Sir or Madam

You may know Sina Grace as the artist from Image’s “Li’l Depressed Boy.” You may even know Sina Grace for his work as an editor for books like “The Walking Dead” (but probably not, since no one has ever heard of that book). How about a graphic novel written and illustrated entirely by him, then? Would that suit your wants and needs? Yes? Good.
Coming in October from Image, Sina Grace’s “Not My Bag” is described as a “Persepolis” meets “Blankets” meets Devil Wears Prada graphic novel in which a young artist takes a job in retail only to find out that the job spells his doom. Grace’s work so far in “Li’l Depressed Boy” has been highly entertaining, so I would image that “Not My Bag” will make for a great addition to your growing collection of Image original graphic novels.
Continued belowThe Return of Rock Bottom

This is something announced quite a while ago, but many of Joe Casey’s old graphic novels are coming back in deluxe formats (such as “Codeflesh” and “Officer Downe,” both in stores now). In addition to the “Milkman Murders”, “Rock Bottom” will be joining the array of deluxe Casey-written hardcovers available to you for all your hopes and dreams and wants and needs.
And if you’ve never read “Rock Bottom,” how’s this for a selling point: Charlie “Walking Dead” Adlard is the artist on the book, which tells the story of a man who is turning to stone and has to figure out what to do about it. ‘Nuff said, right?
The “Chew” #30 Trifold Cover Is Awesome and Foreboding

We already published an article about this cover, so we’ll leave you with the image. It’s an awesome image, isn’t it?
The Creator Owned Heroes “Relaunch”

The recently launched comics magazine “Creator Owned Hero” began with two stories, each eight-pages, to be serialized for a short time over the span of four issues while providing tons of bonus content, including interviews and process pieces and more. Now, as the first two stories die down, we get information on the second two stories:

ALL-NEW STORIES BEGIN!
“KILLSWITCH,” Part One
Part one of a brand new four-part story. Introducing Killswitch, an enigmatic, and devastatingly handsome killer with a fetish for blunt force, a strong code of honor, and more than a few skeletons in his closet. Killswitch is drawn into a game of death with the world’s top assassins to find out who is behind the contract on his head — and why.
“BLACK SPARROW,” Part One
A brand new two-part story begins, as a family living in the old west must reconcile that someone close to them might be a killer, or worse. A dark tale of haunting family dedication and the price we pay for love.
PLUS! An interview with AMANDA CONNER, art galleries, con photos, and original articles all celebrating the creator owned spirit.
Dave Johnson interiors? Sign me up! While it’s not clear which story is which team, it doesn’t matter because they both sound excellent.
The Best Spawn Cover Ever

Todd McFarlane has been doing some pretty amusing covers lately for “Spawn,” offering up humorous takes of classic comic book covers — but this is by far the best one.
And a Whole Lot More!

As is often the case with the Image solicitation commentary, there is usually a lot to write about — but unfortunately, sometimes it comes off a bit repetitive. For example, I’m sure anyone reading this site knows we love “Morning Glories,” “Hell Yeah,” “Glory,” “Manhattan Projects,” “Revival,” “The Walking Dead,” etc. We’ve only posted about these books and more a gazillion times, right?
So we haven’t given every book we love a spotlight this month and are instead giving it to books you may not have noticed before (well, ok, except for “Spawn” at least). However, let it not be said that October is going to be an excellent month for fans of Image. For realsies.
