Rachael Stott has been establishing herself over the past few years as one of the finest up and coming artists in comics. Known for her work on “Doctor Who” and “Star Trek” comics, Stott recently teamed with Si Spurrier on “Motherlands,” a new Vertigo title. Well, Stott has another feather in her cap: with June’s Prog 2086, she will become only the fourth woman to ever draw a cover for “2000 AD.” Aside from Angie Mills (Prog 330, 1983), the three others all have 2018 debuts: Emily Zeiner covered Prog 2074 earlier this year, Tula Lotay will cover the “Sci-Fi Special” later this summer, and this, Stott’s cover to 2086.

Ahead of the aforementioned first-ever all-female “Sci-Fi Special” later this summer, Stott’s cover highlights the ‘Durham Red’ story that is currently happening in the Prog, written by Alec Worley with interior art by Ben Willsher. Stott’s cover is direct and evocative, and nicely captures the tone of the the strip. We are thrilled to bring you this exclusive first look at the cover.
Thanks to 2000 AD/Rebellion for the image, and make sure to pick up the issue on June 20th!
