The wait is over, DC Comics spoiled Catwoman’s answer to Batman’s marriage proposal earlier today. Bruce asked Selina to marry him back in “Batman” #24 written by Tom King with art by David Finch and Clay Mann. This proposal kicked off the current arc with Batman having to tell Selina the worst thing he’s ever done (and have sex again), in order for her to know what she’s getting into. After all the jokes, and riddles, and jokes, and riddles, and “Hell yeahs,” and war we have the answer. If you don’t want to be spoiled before “Batman” #32 hits stores this Wednesday, well don’t look below this picture of Spoiler.
She said yes! It appears that even after “The War of Jokes and Riddles” Selina still wants to be with Bruce, and that their love is stronger than the reveal of the horrible thing Bruce was hiding which is that Batman almost killed Riddler in the war and Joker stopped him.
So where do the future Wayne’s (Kyle-Wayne’s? Wayne-Kyle’s? Kyle?’s) go from here? Tom King highlighted that the couple will have some issues, not between each other, but from the rest of the DCU questioning Bruce’s sanity/ “Most superheroes, you make them happy and you end conflict — you give Spider-Man a wife and where do you go from there? But Batman’s the opposite: You give him happiness and you create conflict, because he’s fundamentally a sad character.”
“Batman” #32 comes out Wednesday, and #33, the beginning of “A Dream of Me,” a new arc with Batman on the road and art from new series artist Joelle Jones, kicks off October 17th. What do you think of the reveal? Can the Bat and Cat be husband and wife? Sound off below!
