Dark Horse Comics to Publish “Isabellae” in August 2019

The 2016 French comic hit “Isabellae,” a world of witches, ghosts, and samurai, will come to American shores in Summer 2019 with a new English translation from Dark Horse Comics. Written by Raule (“Jazz Maynard”) with artwork by Gabor (“Greenworld”), this Belgian series that started in 2016 is set in feudal Japan several years after the battle of Dan-no-ura that marked the start of Japanese feudal rule. Of Irish and Japanese ancestry, titular character Isabellae Ashiwara as a bounty hunter while searching for her long-lost sister.  With the ghost of her father at her side, Isabellae must finally face her past and seize her destiny.

While the series is already available in English-translated single issues from Europe Comics via digital platforms Comixology and Izneo, Dark Horse’s edition is a new compendium collecting the first three French volumes in one work in print in a new, hardcover collection.  “Isabellae” Volume 1 will be released on August 7, 2019, and is available for pre-order now.
