A new graphic novel has been announced today by Disney and Dark Horse as part of their new ongoing partnership. If you or your children are looking for a way back to the anthropomorphic world of Zootopia, then this is your gateway: the graphic novel is based on Disney’s mega blockbuster, and will be called, “Disney Zootopia: Friends to the Rescue.”

The 48-page book will be aimed at young readers and will feature two stories based on the younger versions of Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde. The first story will be about Judy at the Bunnyburrow County Fair, with her friend Dinah, while the other will be about Nick, who has to put aside his mischievousness to throw his friend the best birthday party he can. The graphic novel will also have special features and story related activities.

Each story will be written by Jimmy Gownley, a self-published comic book writer and artist behind the “Amelia Rules!” series, and co-founder of Kids Love Comics. The art is by Leandro Richardo Da Silva, with colors by Wes Dzioba and lettering by Chris Dicky.

Look out for “Zootopia: Friends to the Rescue” on September 12th. Meanwhile, Dark Horse will be releasing comics based on Incredibles 2 from June, and in August there will be a three issue miniseries called “Disney Frozen,” written by Joe Caramagna with art from the Kuwaiti creative studio.
