DC had two major panels at the New York Comic Con on Friday for “Doomsday Clock” and ‘New Age of Heroes,’ the post-“Dark Nights: Metal” event formerly known as ‘Dark Matter.’ There was also more:

– Warner Bros. Records and DC have announced “Dark Nights: Metal” will receive an official album of songs inspired by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo’s series. Capullo said, “As both a musician and fan of heavy metal music, having a soundtrack for ‘Dark Nights: Metal’ is pretty awesome. I really like the concept of having hard-driving, heavy music as a complement to the incredible story that Scott and I are telling.” The album will be produced by Watchmen and Guardians of the Galaxy composer – and former Marilyn Manson guitarist – Tyler Bates, as well as WB Records senior vice president Mike Elizondo.
– DC will be dropping the ‘Rebirth’ banner from December. You can view what the books will look with the new DC Universe logo here.
– There was a panel for Batman: Gotham by Gaslight, attended by executive producer Bruce Timm, director/producer Sam Liu and screenwriter Jim Krieg. The film, based on the 1989 comic by Brian Augustyn and Mike Mignola, relocates Batman to the year 1889, and pits him against Jack the Ripper. The adaptation includes more characters like Catwoman, voiced by Dexter‘s Jennifer Carpenter. During the Q&A, the creative team mentioned they were considering a sequel, and adaptations of “Superman: Red Son” and “Batman: Red Rain.” Batman: Gotham by Gaslight will be released early next year.
– The CW Seed released a poster for the animated Constantine webseries starting next year. Aesthetically, it doesn’t diverge from the look character designer Phil Bourassa established for DC Animation with Young Justice. Matt Ryan will reprise the lead role, and the series will premiere early next year.
– Telltale Games apologized for using an image of assassinated Russian diplomat Andrei Karlov in this week’s episode of their Batman series, The Pact. The image will be replaced in an update.
– Later today, Vertigo and Young Animal will be having their panel. The DC website prematurely uploaded a press release for the new titles that are going to be announced, which they removed, but not before Comics Beat saw it. We’ll have an article of the new titles later today, so stay tuned.
