Last time we chatted, I speculated that all these teaser images were part of a single series. One eagle-eyed reader pointed out that Greek artist Ilias Kyriazis has been posting these pictures all over his DeviantArt and Facebook pages. I think we can assume that he’s involved in this project in some way.
I admit that I’m not too familiar with Kyriazis’s work, but he’s made many of his comics available on his site. I got a kick out of “The Iliad in Sixteen Pages” and “The Dragon and The Ghost“. His art is heavily detailed, expressive, and has that cool blend between old-school Disney cartoons, manga, and the whole European-style (for lack of a better term). I think that energy and expressiveness could help give this book, whatever it is, enough distinction alone from the onslaught of cape comics we usually get.
