This Fall, college student and part-time agent of death Kim Reaper returns in an adventure that promises to explore the many struggles of academic life: relationships, roommates, and vampires!

Oni Press announced that the first issue of “Kim Reaper: Vampire Island,” the second volume in writer/artist Sarah Graley’s “Kim Reaper” series, will hit stores September 5, with covers from both Graley and artist Katy Farina (“Steven Universe”). The second story in the “Reaper”-verse will focus on Kim’s attempts to juggle her part-time job, her schoolwork, and her budding relationship with her girlfriend, Becka, while also sending the characters on a “romantic” getaway to the titular Vampire Island.

“College relationships are tough for everyone, but they’re EXTRA hard for Kim,” reads Oni’s official description of the miniseries. “Her grumpy grim reaper bosses are always mad at her, her girlfriend Becka’s roommate keeps hanging around, and now everybody is super into vampires for some reason! And she accidentally let slip that she knew about an island full of them?! Oops, better pack up your scythe—we’re all going on a really weird date!”

If the above news doesn’t excite you, you likely haven’t read the first volume of “Kim Reaper” yet (or read our previous interview with Graley), but don’t worry. Oni Press is making it easy to get caught up. In the run up to “Vampire Island”‘s release, Graley and Oni are posting the entirety of “Kim Reaper: Grim Beginnings” online for free, with a new page arriving at kimreapercomic.com every weekday.
