Welcome to Multiversity’s coverage of the third day of New York Comic Con 2023! We’ll be updating this post with all the comics news from throughout the day, and link any and all full reports (in other words, think of this as a live substitute for the Rundown during the rest of the week.) Check back often, and soon!
Marvel Comics:

– Marvel also announced a four-part “Scarlet Witch & Quicksilver” series by writer Steve Orlando and artist Lorenzo Tammetta. The mini, created to mark the 60th anniversary of the twins’ debut in “X-Men” #4 (and which marks their first “solo” series together), sees Wanda and Pietro fall out after she burns a letter from the late Magneto, that she felt would upset him. “Her choice drives them apart at the worst possible time: a new threat heralded by the Wizard — with a horrifying eldritch upgrade — is coming for their heads, and if they can’t find a way to repair their damaged bond, it will cost them their lives.” Issue #1 arrives February 14, shortly after Orlando’s “Scarlet Witch” run concludes with issue #10 next month.
DC Comics:
– DC will mark the 35th anniversary of ‘A Death of the Family’ with a “faux-simile” edition of “Batman” #428, the issue where Jason Todd died, featuring the alternate ending where he survives. Artist Jim Aparo drew the sequence in case the telephone vote over the issue’s ending had decided Jason would live. Written by Jim Starlin, with inks by Mike DeCarlo, coloring by Adrienne Roy, and lettering by John Costanza, the “faux-simile” will be released on December 12.
– “John Constantine, Hellblazer” creative team Si Spurrier, Aaron Campbell and Jordie Bellaire are returning to the character with “John Constantine, Hellblazer: Dead in America,” an eight-part DC Black Label series kicking off on January 16, 2024. Co-starring Dream of the Endless, the book finds a dying Constantine, his friend Nat, and his son Noah wanted for murder and on the run in the States. Dream offers his help in exchange for finding out who is using his sand for a terrible scheme in the country, forcing John to turn to the help of someone he wasn’t always kind to: Swamp Thing.
Other Publishers:
– Oni Press will publish “Chef’s Kiss Again,” a sequel to last year’s award-winning graphic novel by Jarrett Melendez and Danica Brine. Due out in 2025, the book will see Melendez and Brine continue the tale of romance between newbie chef Ben Cook and colleague-turned-boyfriend Liam. “When a culinary rival decides to kidnap their restaurant’s secret weapon — the taste-testing pig named Watson — the heat is going to rise… inside and outside the kitchen!” A deluxe hardcover edition of the first book will also be released in May 2024, featuring a foreword by Kami Garcia, an author Q&A, food recipes from Melendez, and more.
– “Lore Olympus” will resume on Webtoon on November 12, 2023, and build to a series finale sometime next year. The award-winning webcomic by Rachel Smythe, based on the story of Hades and Persephone, has been running since 2018, and went on hiatus after chapter 250 in July. Based on the length of the comic’s first two seasons, fans can expect the final season (which currently sits at 43 chapters) to conclude after roughly 50 more.

– The winners of the 2023 Harvey Awards were announced.
– Viz Media unveiled their Spring 2024 releases, which will include “Star Wars: Visions: The Manga Anthology,” featuring stories by Kamome Shirahama, Keisuke Sato, Yusuke Osawa, and Haruichi based on the episodes “The Elder,” “Lop and Ocho,” “The Ninth Jedi,” and “The Twins.” It will be released on May 7. Other slated titles include a pair of adaptations of “Naruto” prose novels, “Battle Royale: Enforcers,” “Alley: Junji Ito Story Collection,” Spy x Family: The Official Anime Guide — Mission Report, and Deadpool: Samurai — The Official Coloring Book.
Continued belowFilm and TV:
– Amazon released a new trailer for Invincible season two, premiering November 3. The second season will run for four hour-long episodes before midseason, and return in early 2024.
– YouNeek Studios (“Iyanu,” “Malika: Warrior Queen,” “E.X.O.”) have formed a pact with Lion Forge Entertainment to turn their comics into films, TV shows and games, as well as to develop all-new projects. The agreement gives Lion Forge the live-action rights to “Iyanu,” an animated version of which the two companies have been developing for Max.
Games:
