Dark Horse Comics have announced “Parasomnia,” a nightmarish new four-issue series by writer Cullen Bunn, artist Andrea Mutti, and letterer Simon Bowland.

The book follows an unnamed man who is searching for his son, after he disappeared into the world of dreams. To find him, he must venture through the most dangerous realms to locate the Faceless Queen.

Meanwhile, an estranged couple, who are struggling with the disappearance of their own child, find themselves confronted by dark forces; and a ruthless cult is seeking to break down the barrier between reality and dreams even further.

Bunn said, “‘Parasomnia’ is an eerie dark fantasy adventure. Part of it is set in our world — the waking world — and part of it is set… someplace else. A land of ruthless highwaymen and forgotten gods and fierce monsters. It’s a little bit sword and sorcery, a little bit mystery, a little horror, and a whole lot of action adventure.”

“Parasomnia” #1 will be released on June 30, 2021. It is the second new series by Bunn announced for June, following the BOOM! Studios horror book “Basilisk,” which will reunite him with “Bone Parish” artist Jonas Scharf. It is also the third Andrea Mutti project announced this week, following the AfterShock series “Bunny Mask” (debuting June 9), and the graphic novel “Cold Bodies” (releasing from Dark Horse in September).
