“Quantum & Woody” follows the two estranged, adoptive brothers imbued with energy-based superpowers. An unfortunate side effect requires them to slam their metal gauntlets together every 24 hours to avoid their unstable energies dissolving them completely. Launched in 1997, the series has undergone a few relaunches. This new take aims to continue the previous series, which ended with the duo on the run from the government. The brothers are on the hunt for any opportunity to regain their good names as superheroes.
Hastings and Browne told IGN they sought inspiration from television shows like Brooklyn Nine-Nine and X-Files to inform the pace and storytelling of the new series. The creative team’s writing and visual style look set to continue the offbeat super-antics the “Quantum & Woody” series is known for.
“Quantum & Woody” #1 is slated to debut January 29th, 2020. Hastings and Browne are joined by colorist Ruth Redmond and letterer Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou, and the book will come with cover art by David Nakayama, David Lopez, Dave Johnson, and Erica Henderson.
