– BOOM! Studios announced “Alice Ever After,” the five-part tale of a grown up Alice returning to Wonderland. Dan Panosian will write the series, and provide art with Giorgio Spalletta, while Fabiana Mascolo will handle colors. According to the synopsis, Wonderland has become Alice’s only respite “from a cold, harsh world that feels even less real — a distant family, a tormented lover, and a father with secrets he’ll do anything to protect. But in order to return to her fantasy, Alice will need something much stronger than mushrooms… Cursed with a growing addiction, Alice is forced into the twisted underbelly of London and pulled ever further from reality. Is her obsession with Wonderland truly a respite, or a one-way ticket to the dreaded… ASYLUM?” Issue #1 will hit comic shops in April, with variant covers from Jenny Frison and Adam Hughes.

– Panosian’s art can also be seen on the cover of ”Elektra” #100, scripted by classic “Daredevil” writer Ann Nocenti. Paulo Siqueira and Ty Templeton join her for art duties, as Nocenti tackles a character she wasn’t able to her in original ’80s run. “When I was roaming Hell’s Kitchen back in the 1980s spinning Daredevil and Typhoid tales with John Romita Jr., Elektra had just died in Frank Miller’s run, and resurrecting her was taboo,” she says of the run. “So when editor Devin Lewis asked if I would like to do an Elektra versus Typhoid story, I was instantly hooked.” The book will depict Elektra’s first encounter with Mary this April.

– Hobie Brown, aka the Spider-Punk variant of Spider-Man, is getting his own five-issue miniseries in April. Revealed in an interview at Den of Geek with current “Amazing Spider-Man” co-writer Cody Ziglar, the series will feature art by Justin Mason, and picks up after Hobie has defeated President Osborn. Ziglar says, “This is very much him saying, ‘I’ve taken out the figurehead, but now I deal with the actual institution. How do I topple the actual institution?’ And for that, he has to put together a fun little team.” He teased a variant of Riri Williams will be introduced as part of Hobie’s new band. Issue #1 will be released with a cover by Spider-Punk’s co-creator, Olivier Coipel, and a variant by Todd Nauck.

– Marvel Unlimited subscribers can read “X Lives of Wolverine” #1. The first issue hit the subscription service yesterday, the same day it was released in comic shops. Subscribers will also be treated to the digital exclusive “Life of Wolverine,” a ten-part series published in Marvel’s Infinity Comics format. Created by Jim Zub, Ramon Bachs, and Java Tartaglia, the series lays out Logan’s life for the first time in chronological order. “Life of Wolverine” will release every Thursday, and run concurrently with “X Lives of Wolverine” and “X Deaths of Wolverine.” Unlimited Subscribers can read “X Lives of Wolverine” here.

– Daniel Cherry III has stepped down from his position as DC Senior VP and General Manager after less than two years in the position. DC has not commented on the departure, though rumors suggest Cherry will be taking a new position working with Kanye West.

– Two days after its initial launch, ”7Fates: CHAKHO” has hit fifteen million views on Webtoon. Created by the digital comic platform, South Korean music company Hype, and the K-pop superstars BTS, the title has officially become the most successful in the website’s history, and currently tops its “new and trending” and “all genres” charts. The second and third “new and trending” spots also went to K-pop boyband comics, Enhyphen’s “Dark Moon: The Blood Altar,” and Tomorrow X Together‘s “The Star Seekers” respectively.

– Diamond Comics Distributors has unveiled their Free Comic Book Day 2022 commemorative artwork, with Tyler Kirkham crafting the image that will adorn t-shirts and posters for this year’s event. Kirkham is a prolific artist, with credits ranging from “Witchblade” to “Ultimate Fantastic Four.” In the press release, Kirkham says “I imagined this as a story leaping from an action-adventure sci-fi comic. A story of two young siblings that have created some sort of energy that can construct things they imagine.” The shirts and poster will be available in the February issue of Previews, due out on January 26, 2022.

– The upcoming YA lit anthology Generation Wonder: The New Age of Heroes will feature former DC president Pau Levitz’s first prose story. The anthology will feature thirteen short stories, each featuring a twist on a classic superhero trope. When asked what trope he would be subverting, Levitz commented, “I guess you could look at it as a twist on the super-soldier trope. And to keep my old Legion fans interested it takes a look at a future — though a much less pleasant one. It was fun and challenging to try using a different set of writing muscles.” Generation Wonder: The New Age of Heroes will be available from Abrams on June 14 of this year, and will feature illustrations from Colleen Doran.

– César Award-winning actor Gaspard Ulliel has passed away at the age of 37, after injuries sustained during a skiing accident on Tuesday, January 18. A major name in French cinema, Ulliel is perhaps best known to American audiences for his role as the young Dr. Lector in Hannibal Rising, and his upcoming turn as Anton Mogart/Midnight Man in Marvel’s Moon Knight. He was also the face of the Bleu de Chanel men’s fragrance. He is survived by his partner, model and singer Gaëlle Pietri, and their six-year old son.

– Finally, GLAAD released the nominees for their 33rd Annual Media Awards. “Aquaman: The Becoming” and “Superman: Son of Kal-El” were among the ten nominees for Outstanding Comic Book, while both “DC Pride” and “Marvel’s Voices: Pride” earned nods for Outstanding Original Graphic Novel/Anthology. Batwoman, Supergirl and Doom Patrol were recognized for Outstanding Drama Series, with Y: The Last Man earning a spot in Outstanding New TV Series. Marvel’s Eternals was nominated for Outstanding Film – Wide Release. Also worth noting was The Amber Ruffin Show’s Outstanding Variety or Talk Show Episode nomination for “Bisexual Superman Is Not Ruining Your Childhood, B*tch Please.” The awards will be presented in Los Angeles on April 2, 2022, and in New York on May 6, 2022.
