– DC Entertainment continues to expand their exclusive ranks, signing “Nightwing” artist Javier Fernandez and “Super Sons” artist Jorge Jimenez to exclusive contracts. Jimenez illustrated our fourth favorite single issue of 2016, and Fernandez has been doing solid work, along with folks like Marcus To, over on “Nightwing.”
– Black Lightning has been passed over by Fox before a pilot order. The show was seen as a bad fit for the network and will possibly move to the CW to join Greg Berlanti’s powerhouse CW-verse. It’s expected the show will receive at least a pilot order.
– “Batman” artist David Finch has contributed a variant cover to the relaunch of Rob Liefeld’s “Youngblood”. The cover is an homage to Liefeld’s “Youngblood” #1 cover from 1992. The “Youngblood” relaunch is being written by Rob Liefeld and Multiversity alum Chad Bowers with art by Jim Towe.
– Max Landis’s original draft of the Power Rangers script has been leaked to reddit. The man himself even tweeted about it saying, “holy shit someone poster my power rangers script to reddit.” In other Power Rangers news the final poster has been released and it includes the Zords!
– Fans have started a petition to have Zack Snyder direct The Batman in the wake of Ben Affleck’s departure from the project.
– Black Canary joins the cast of Injustice 2 as the latest playable character. NeatherRealm Studios released a gameplay trailer today featuring many of Dinah’s signature moves such as her mastery of martial arts and her canary cry. It will be interesting to see where she fits into the story of Injustice 2 as the last we saw her in the Injustice storyline she had been transported to an alternate reality by Doctor Fate.
