Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at rundown@multiversitycomics.com.

– Marvel is doing a choose-your-own-adventure style book starring Deadpool. The five-part weekly limited series by writer Al Ewing and artists Salva Espin and Paco Diaz will have readers rolling dice, tracking scores, and making “smart (or disastrous) decisions.” The series will see appearances by Hulk, Ghost Rider, Grasshopper, Daredevil, “another” Grasshopper, and comes with a cut-out-and-keep Deadpool Die. “Journey Into Mystery” writer Kieron Gillen also makes a special appearance in the tutorial sequence. The book will debut in May.

– St. Paul, Minnesota’s Frogtown neighborhood has an interesting plan to get the attention of city officials, and fight gentrification. They have turned their small area plan (a document submitted to the mayor which outlines changes and policies the community would like to see) into a graphic novel called “Smapl!” The book was written and illustrated by Mychal Batson, who spoke with hundreds of residents to create it.

– Drawn & Quarterly is starting to offer a bi-annual publishing fellowship based out of their Mile-Ex office in Montreal. The position is for 32 hours a week from mid-January through mid-June, and then again from mid-July through mid-November. The fellowship will be involved in all aspects of the publishing business: editorial, production and design, marketing and sales, and retail.

– The upcoming Venom film revealed its first poster yesterday, and also teased a trailer being released sometime today. Venom is part of Sony’s non-MCU Spider-Man universe, stars Tom Hardy, and is scheduled to be released in October of this year.

– Black Hook Press is publishing Takashi Fukutani’s “Dokudami Tenement” in English for the first time. Along with the three-volumes of story, the collection also contains the most detailed biography of the late creator to date, assembled from documents and meetings with friends and relatives by editor Mitsuhiro Asakawa.

– Ron Garney announced on Twitter that he will be leaving “Daredevil.” He has been the main artist on the title with Charles Soule since the pre-legacy relaunch in 2015. It looks like “Deadpool vs. Old Man Logan” artist Mike Henderson will be taking over.

– IDW announced that its international arm will now be managing Tokyopop’s foreign rights catalogue, which includes over 100 manga and graphic novel IPs. Tokyopop joins other publishers such as Oni Press and Archie Comics in working with IDW International.

– VIZ has released an art book for the “The Pokemon Adventures” manga series to celebrate its 20th anniversary. The “Pokemon Adventures 20th Anniversary Illustration Book: The Art of Pokemon Adventures” contains 168 pages of art from series artist Satoshi Yamamoto, four pull-out posters, and a new side story.

– Entrepreneur.com has a profile on former The Simpsons character artist and storyboard revisionist Liz Climo, about her popular series of comics featuring characters like Rory the Dinosaur. They touch on her leaving The Simpsons to pursue her own work full time, and how she leverages social media to promote her brand.

– Twitch has released a 2017 retrospective for the company in the form of a webcomic. The comic was written by Evan Freitas and Brian Albert, with art and letters by Darren Geers, and 3D art by Tim Reynolds.

– In addition to the red-band Deadpool 2 trailer released yesterday, an international trailer was also released, with an appearance by someone conspicuously missing from the first one: Colossus, or rather, Colossus’s butt as Deadpool is grabbing it.

– And finally, Humble Bundle has a new “Geek Gals” pay-what-you-want comics bundle featuring “Giant Days,” “Pretty Deadly,” “Plutona,” “Paper Girls,” and many more.
