In case you missed it, DC announced their “Infinite Frontier” event, and that Tom King and Bilquis Evely will collaborate on “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.” AfterShock also announced paranormal mystery “Out of Body,” and Image revealed the Sampson family’s story will end with “Jupiter’s Legacy: Requiem.”

– London’s Somerset House will pay tribute to classic British comic book comedy at their 2021 autumn art exposition. Beano: The Art of Breaking the Rules will open on October 21 at the London centre, and will feature both original artwork from “Beano’s” 80+ year history, and tributes from modern artists influenced by the long-running magazine. The show will be curated by British multimedia artist Andy Holden, and will end with an interactive workshop encouraging patrons to create “their own creative misdemeanours.” Tickets will go on sale this summer, and can be purchased on Somerset House’s website.
– Dark Horse Comics and Blizzard Entertainment have announced a new, extended hardcover of their “Overwatch Anthology.” Titled “Overwatch Anthology: Expanded Edition,” the hardcover will not only include the original anthology, but over fifty pages of additional stories and behind-the-scenes content, including every digital “Overwatch” comic published to date. The hardcover will release to comic shops on November 10, then to bookstores on November 23, with a $24.99 price tag.
– The British Academy of Film and Television Arts released their nominees for the 2021 BAFTA Game Awards. Spider-Man: Miles Morales picked up seven nominations, including nods for Animation, Narration, and Best Game. Nadji Jeter also picked up a nomination for Performer in a Leading Role for his portrayal of the title character. Miles Morales finds itself nominated for Best Game alongside Hades, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and The Last of Us Part II. The awards will be presented online on March 25.
– In other awards news, Spider-Man: Miles Morales was also nominated for a Visual Effects Society Award. The PS5 game picked a nomination for Outstanding Visual Effects in a Real-Time Project alongside Assassins Creed: Valhalla and Cyberpunk 2077. The Mandalorian and Soul earned the most award nods overall. The 19th Annual Visual Effects Society Awards will also be held online, streaming live on April 6.
– Caroline Leigh Layne will take over as interior artist for Vault’s “Money Shot,” starting with issue #11. She replaces Rebekah Isaacs on the sci-fi sex comedy, joining a team that includes co-writers Sarah Beattie and Tim Seely, colorist Kurt Michael Russell, designer Tim Daniel, and letterer Crank. Layne is best known for her webcomic “Mimosa Memoirs,” which has been running since July 2020. “Money Shot” #11 will be available on May 26.
– On the heels of a wildly successful premiere, The CW has renewed Superman & Lois for a second season before its second episode even aired. According to the network, the series’ premiere gained the highest one day views of any streaming CW show, and boosted the network to its most watched single day in two years. Superman & Lois was renewed alongside thirteen other shows, including Batwoman, Riverdale, and the recently debuted Walker.
– Lastly, Dr. Seuss Enterprises announced it would cease publication and licensing of six titles by the beloved children’s author and cartoonist. These titles are And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street, If I Ran the Zoo, McElligot’s Pool, On Beyond Zebra!, Scrambled Eggs Super!, and The Cat’s Quizz. In the statement, the company reiterated their mission of “supporting all children and families with messages of hope, inspiration, inclusion, and friendship,” stating the mentioned titles “portray people in ways that are hurtful and wrong.”
