In case you missed it, Barry Blitt won the 2020 Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Cartooning, and Dark Horse announced “Savor” by Neil Kleid, John Broglia, and Frank Reynoso.

— Matt Kindt, Jeff Lemire, and David Rubin announced a Kickstarter campaign for their new noir graphic novel titled “Cosmic Detective.” Kindt describes the project as channeling “Jack Kirby, David Lynch, and Raymond Chandler.” It tells the story of an everyday detective who has been secretly working for a shadowy underground organization, when the murder of a god threatens to upend everything. The Hollywood Reporter has a first look.
— Last Gap will release a paperback 128-page anthology of new material this fall titled “Slow Death Zero: The Comix Anthology of Ecological Horror.” The release comes 50 years after “Slow Death” #1 was released on the first Earth Day in 1970. It will feature a cover by William Stout and new work by Tim Boxell, Bryan Talbot, Errol McCarthy, Richard Corben, Rick Veitch, Bruce Jones, Peter Bagge, and many more, as well as previously unseen work by Greg Irons.
— ComicBook.com has a first look at Steve Aoki’s “Neon Future Vol. 2” #1. The new issue, created by Aoki, Tom Bilyeu, Jim Krueger, Neil Edwards, and Jheremy Raapack, begins with hero Clay Campbell “fighting for his life while trapped in a digital nightmare, where the mysterious Hacker attempts to crack into his mind.” It will release digitally on May 6 on Impact Theory’s website and comiXology.
— A new Disney+ series will showcase different Marvel characters through dossiers from Nick Fury. Fury Files will feature a mix of animation and motion comic art with scenes from shows like The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and X-Men: The Animated Series. The series begins streaming Friday, May 15.
— Newsarama has confirmed that several publishers have reached out to direct market distributor Lunar about distributing their comics to comic shops. Lunar, along with UCS, launched in the wake of Diamond’s decision to suspend operations due to COVID-19. According to co-owner Christina Merkler, “Marvel is not among those interested parties at this time.” Lunar’s first week of distribution began last week with four DC titles.
— Taika Waititi will direct and co-write, along with Krysty Wilson-Cairns, a new Star Wars feature film, according to StarWars.com. The press release also confirmed writer Leslye Headland is developing a new untitled Star Wars series for Disney+. Release dates for both projects have yet to be announced.
— Finally, Joe Russo has inked a deal to write a second installment of Netflix’s Extraction film starring Chris Hemsworth. According to Deadline, the story is in its formative stages, and it’s undetermined whether Extraction 2 will take place forward or backward in time.
