In case you missed it, Emily Pearson and Pat Shand are launching “Snap Flash Hustle” at Black Mask this November, and BOOM!’s “Fence” is joining the wave of series transitioning from single issue to OGN releases. We also interviewed Bill Morrison about his graphic novelization “The Beatles: Yellow Submarine.”

– Red Sonja co-creator Roy Thomas is re-teaming with classic Sonja artist Esteban Moroto for Dynamite’s English publication of “Red Sonja: The Ballad of the Red Goddess” in November, says The Hollywood Reporter. The graphic novel, which was previously published in Spanish by publisher Planeta, teases Sonja’s origins and features stunning black, white, and red artwork.
– The spirit of the ’90s is alive at Valiant, which announced a “Glass Cover Variant” for “Bloodshot: Rising Spirit” #1. The Beat has more info on the cover, which will be “printed via a special multi-colored process on a carefully devised pane of glass.”
– Speaking of the ’90s, the Rugrats are coming back in a new holiday special, “Rugrats: C Is For Chanukah.” Comicon has the details on the story, which will be written by Daniel Kibblesmith (“Quantum & Woody!,” “Lockjaw”) and Cullen Crawford and illustrated by Kate Sherron (“The Amazing World of Gumball”).
– In other Valiant news, Newsarama reports the current volume of “Quantum & Woody!” is coming to an end with November’s issue 12, but the heroes may return in a new “UNITY” comeback.
– Nintendo announced plans to bring comics to their Switch console as part of a Netflix-style app called InkyPen. Nintendo Life has details on the app, which will apparently include titles such as “Judge Dredd,” “My Little Pony,” “Archer & Armstrong,” “Dungeons and Dragons,” and more. App access is priced at $7.99 per month.
– Publisher Abrams ComicArts announced its Spring 2019 line-up, which includes titles from Brian Fies, Bill Griffith, Brian Selznick, Jack Gantos, and Dave McKean. For more info on the titles, which will release during Abrams ComicArts’s 10th anniversary, click over to The Beat.
– Brendan Fraser (The Mummy) is set to star in DC Universe‘s upcoming Doom Patrol series, featuring as Robotman/Cliff Steele. Deadline says Fraser will voice Robotman in present-day scenes and appear as Steele in flashbacks.
– Marvel’s adding even more Infinity Warps to its November schedule with the publication of “Infinity Wars: Infinity Warps,” a two-issue anthology series of stories starring mashed-up characters. – Star Wars actress Kelly Marie Tran wrote about how the months of online harassment she endured from Star Wars “fans” in the wake of The Last Jedi affected her. “For months, I went down a spiral of self-hate, into the darkest recesses of my mind, places where I tore myself apart, where I put their words above my own self-worth,” wrote Tran, in the article published at The New York Times.
– The Breakfast Club‘s Anthony Michael Hall is joining The CW’s Riverdale for a flashback episode titled “The Midnight Club,” which takes place when Archie and the gang’s parents attended high school. Hall will feature as the principal of 1980s Riverdale High, according to TV Line.
– And finally, Brent Spiner (Star Trek: The Next Generation‘s Data) is exiting Supergirl season four due to scheduling and family issues. His role of Vice President Baker will be taken up by actor Bruce Boxleitner (Babylon 5), says The Hollywood Reporter.
