– A new edition of “The Color of Always: An LGBTQIA+ Anthology” will receive a direct market release from New York-based A Wave Blue World. The LGBTQIA+ romance anthology was originally funded via Kickstarter, with editors Brent Fisher and Michele Abounader striking this deal with AWBW after their initial stock was depleted. AWBW was founded in 2005 by Tyler and Wendy Chin-Tanner. The new edition is due out June 23, 2023.

– Dark Horse will release The Art of Peter Bergting in February 2023. The book will hit comic shops on the 15th, before getting a wide release on the 28th. The hardcover will collect the “dark, mystical, and mysterious work” of Peter Bergting, featuring pages and from his three decade career. This includes Mike Mignola and Christopher Golden’s “Baltimore” and “Tales from the Outerverse.” Golden pens the book’s introduction, while Mignola praises his artwork in the press release (alongside our own Mark Tweedale).

– Titan Comics will publish “The Three Ghosts of Tesla” under its Statix Press imprint in March 2023. The book was written by Richard Marazano with art by Guilhem. It follows scientist Nikola Tesla and his young assistant as they investigate a mystery in WWII New York. Statix Press specializes in international comics, with “The Three Ghosts of Tesla” having picked up the Grande Ourse Award for both writing and art at the Andenne Convention in Belgium.

– CBR has announced they will be hosting monthly Q&As with six comic publishers. Every month, fans will have an opportunity to submit questions to Marvel, DC, IDW Publishing, Dark Horse Comics, Skybound Entertainment, and Vault. There will be answers by the publishers and on occasion a special guest. Mark Waid will be answering on behalf of DC this month. IDW will also be answering “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” related questions this month. Questions can be submitted to the publishers via six unique email addresses.

Smallville and The 100 actor Richard Harmon has been tapped to play a post-Crisis version of Captain Boomerang on The CW’s The Flash. Harmon will play the Owen Mercer Captain Boomerang in the show’s ninth season, taking over from Nick E. Tarabay, who portrayed Digger Harkness. Taraby’s Captain Boomerang was killed in the fifth season of Arrow.

– Lukas Gage has joined the cast of the Dead Boy Detectives series at HBO Max. The actor replaces Alexander Calvert, who was previously cast in the recurring role of the trickster spirit Cat King. Gage is best known for his roles in The White Lotus, Euphoria, and Love, Victor.

– Production has begun on season two of Netflix’s Heartstopper. The streamer released a video giving fans a glimpse of the series’s pre-season read-through, and the new cast members. Joining Kit Connor’s Nick Nelson and Joe Locke’s Charlie Spring are Leila Khan, Jack Barton, and Nima Taleghani. The series is based on the graphic novels by Alice Oseman, who also serves as writer and creator of the series.

– Finally, anime’s greatest thieves will crossover when Lupin The Third vs. Cat’s Eye debuts on Amazon Prime Video next year. This will be the first “Cat’s Eye” anime since 1984, and follows writer Sakura Nakameguro and artist Shin Asai’s 2010 manga revival of the original series by Tsukasa Hojo. A new trailer gives fans of both series a preview of the film, and its CG animation style.
