– Magdalene Visaggio, Michael Avon Oeming, and Taki Soma have launched “Galaxy of Madness,” a 12-part retro sci-fi adventure exclusive to Patreon. Set two thousand years in the future, “Galaxy of Madness” follows Vigil Virgo, a young archaeologist “on a quest to vindicate the discredited theories her parents vanished trying to prove.” However, uncovering the universe’s greatest secret will bring her into conflict with her mentor and adoptive father, Odysseus Rex. The first issue is available now, and you can read a preview at Newsarama.

– Via IGN, DC unveiled the fourth entry in Kami Garcia and Gabriel Picolo’s young adult graphic novel series, “Teen Titans: Robin.” The book will star Dick Grayson, and Damian Wayne, who was introduced to this continuity in “Teen Titans: Beast Boy Loves Raven.”

Additionally, Garcia and artist Isaac Goodhart (“Under the Moon: A Catwoman Tale”) will collaborate on “Constantine: Distorted Illusions.” This new take will follow a teenage Constantine as he travels to the US, joins the punk rock band Mucus Membrane, “and begins dabbling in the dark arts.” The release dates for both books will be revealed in DC’s upcoming January 2022 solicitations.

– DC also announced that, as part of Wonder Woman’s 80th anniversary celebrations, the character will be inducted into the Comic-Con Museum Character Hall of Fame. Previous inductees in the Hall of Fame, which was established in 2019, consist of Pac-Man, and Diana’s Justice League teammate Batman. A virtual ceremony will be held on the character’s birthday on October 21. Click here for more plans from DC, including a statue of the character that will be unveiled in Burbank next year.

Publishers Weekly‘s children’s book rights report brings word of a new graphic novel series by “Pashmina” creator Nidhi Chanani, titled “Super Boba Cafe.” The series, which will be published by Abrams/Amulet, will tell the story of Aria, who is spending the summer with her grandma at her boba (bubble tea) cafe in San Francisco. “She doesn’t realize that her grandma uses the boba to placate the hill monsters — avoiding an earthquake. But Aria thinks there has to be a better way for the monsters to survive and for the café (and her self-esteem) to thrive.” The first book will be released in 2024; to see the rest of this week’s deals, click here.

– Per Deadline, director Alice Waddington (Paradise Hills) will helm a feature film based on Matt and Sharlene Kindt’s “Dept. H” for Netflix. The sci-fi comic, published by Dark Horse from 2016 to 2018, followed Mia, a woman investigating the murder of her estranged father, who was a renowned scientist working at an underwater research facility. The screenplay will be written by T.S. Nowlin (The Maze Runner trilogy).

– Amazon have ordered The Boys‘ long-gestating spin-off to series, with Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters (Agent Carter) as showrunners. The untitled show, which will star Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, Shane Paul McGhie, Aimee Carrero, Reina Hardesty, and Maddie Phillips, will follow a group of young adult superheroes at a college run by Vought International.

– Myka Jeffords has started a GoFundMe for her husband, Webcomics Weekly reviewer Jason Jeffords Jr. Jason is a Type 1 diabetic, who is recovering from the side effects of a recent knee surgery, and preparing to undergo treatment for TMJ. The couple are seeking $17,000 to cover the medical bills, and the cost of Jason’s monthly diabetic supplies.

– Britain’s Daily Telegraph is set to suspend cartoonist Bob Moran, after he encouraged abuse towards staff in the National Health Service. Moran is a conspiracy theorist, who became an anti-vaccinationist after denying the reality of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the need for lockdowns. You can read the full details on the sorry state of affairs at Press Gazette, and HuffPost. At the time of writing, it is estimated that globally, at least 4.55 million people have died from COVID-19.

– Finally, Game Informer reports Wizards of the Coast have set up a video game studio to develop titles based on characters owned by their parent company, Hasbro. The first project in development is a third-person G.I. Joe adventure, made using Unreal Engine. The team at the new, North Carolina-based developer, currently named New Raleigh-Durham Studio, is being led by Warner Bros. Games veterans who have worked on the Hitman and Batman Arkham franchises.
