In case you missed it, Image Comics announced “Over My Dead Body” by Jay Faerber and Simone Guglielmini, Papercutz acquired Scottish duo Metaphrog’s “Bluebeard: A Feminist Fairy Tale,” and Vault announced the mini-series “Vagrant Queen: A Planet Called Doom.”

– Via The Beat, Dark Horse has announced a hardcover reissue of the long out of print anthology “Noir: A Collection of Crime Stories.” Originally published back in 2009, the black-and-white anthology played host to stories from a murderers’ row of fan-favorite creators, including Ed Brubaker, Sean Phillips, Brian Azzarello, Jeff Lemire, Joelle Jones, Gabriel Bá and Fábio Moon. The hardcover is scheduled to go on sale July 22, 2020.
– Following the news that Kevin Feige will be taking the role as Chief Creative Officer for Marvel, Jeph Loeb is expected to leave his role as President of Marvel Television in the coming weeks. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Loeb is expected to formally announce his departure by Thanksgiving. Since jumping over from Marvel Comics to Marvel Television, Loeb grew the studio with several high profile adaptations, including ABC’s Agents of Shield and Inhumans, as well as the six Netflix/Marvel collaborations.
– Marvel and SiriusXM have announced a multi-year deal in which Marvel will produce multiple exclusive podcasts for SiriusXM and Pandora, starting in 2020. The deal will include both scripted and unscripted series. “Powerful stories are read, seen, and heard – and we believe audio is the next natural step to bring the Marvel Universe to fans around the world,” said Dan Buckley, President of Marvel Entertainment. The slate of upcoming programming includes four scripted series revolving around Black Widow, Hawkeye, Wolverine, and Star-Lord, and a fifth series where the four heroes team up, as well as an unscripted interview show and podcasts that look at Marvel’s rich history through the modern-day lens of pop culture.
– Independent comics publisher Fan the Flame Concepts has announced “Social Monsters,” the first weekly all-ages title from Neymar Jr. Comics. “’Social Monsters’ brings history, geography and science to life and combines the fun of a comic book with the importance of learning,” said Neymar Jr. in a statement. “Social Monsters” was developed by creator Jason M. Burns, and will feature art by Sergio Rios, Fernando Peniche, and Gilberto Ferrel with colors by Dustin Evans. The new series is available for free online or through the Neymar Jr. Comics app.
– AMC has revealed the runtime of the highly anticipated Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which will run for 2 hours and 35 minutes. That will make it the longest Star Wars film to date, surpassing 2017’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which ran three minutes shorter. The film bows on December 20th.
– The webcomic “Acursian” from Legendary Comics and WEBTOON is returning for its first weekly chapter, leading into the conclusion of Season One. The series comes from Arrowverse and Doctor Who alum John Barrowman, Carole Barrowman, and Erika Lewis, with art from Beni Lobel and designs by Tommy Lee Edwards. “Acursian” follows Charlie Stewart, the comic book counterpart of John Barrowman, who falls victim to an ancient Celtic curse and embarks on a quest to find the truth behind the supernatural forces re-writing his destiny. The series is available exclusively at WEBTOON.
– Via Newsarama, Dark Horse has updated the solicitation for its limited series “Tommy Gun Wizards” with a new name, just in time for the series finale. The third issue of the newly-dubbed “Machine Gun Wizards” hits the stands today, but the name change won’t take place until the fourth and final issue is published on November 20th. “As things heat up between Eliot Ness’ Untouchables and Al Capone’s magical bootleg ring, everyone’s favorite gangster series gets a cool new name when ‘Machine Gun Wizards’ returns for issue #4 in November,” says Dark Horse’s description of the issue. “Machine Gun Wizards” comes from writer Christian Ward and artist Sami Kivelä.
– The next iteration of the popular “Sailor Moon” reboot, Sailor Moon Crystal, will come in the form of two new films. The first film in the newly announced Sailor Moon Eternal two-film project is expected to be released in Japan on September 11, 2020. No date has yet been announced for an English-language release.
– The younger brother of the recently departed Fred Andrews is set to arrive in Riverdale. Via Deadline, Ryan Robbins will appear as Frank Andrews later in the current fourth season of the CW series. Robbins’s Frank Andrews is a blue collar, former high school football star who long lived in the shadow of his beloved older brother. Riverdale recently began its new season with a heartfelt “In Memoriam” episode in honor of the late Luke Perry, who portrayed Fred Andrews on the show.
