Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the weekend. Have a link to share? Email our team at rundown@multiversitycomics.com.

– Steve Dillon has passed away at 54. He was part of the British Invasion of comics artists in the ‘80s. Dillon might have been best known for creating the Vertigo series, “Preacher,” with Garth Ennis. In fact, his collaborations with Ennis defined a good portion of his career. He also worked on characters like Judge Dredd, Doctor Who, and a good portion of the Marvel’s characters, notably The Punisher. Dillon broke into the comics scene at aged 16 and was currently working on “Punisher” with Becky Cloonan. As of this writing, the cause of death has yet to be announced, but sources suggest he had been “suffering from an unspecified illness.”
– Donald Glover, aka Marshall Lee the Vampire King aka Childish Gambino aka Troy, has been cast as young Lando Calrissian in the upcoming Han Solo anthology movie. He joins Alden Ehrenreich (Hail, Cæsar!) in the film directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller (Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, The LEGO Movie).
– Tim Miller has left Deadpool 2, citing creative differences with Ryan Reynolds. Miller, of course, directed the surprise hit from earlier this year, and, as The AV Club points out, was working with writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick even though he hadn’t officially signed on. Miller plans to helm Influx next, for Fox.
– Melissa Rosenberg, the showrunner for Marvel and Netflix’s Jessica Jones, has confirmed that all 13 episodes of its second season will be directed by women. The series is still in the process of being written.
– AT&T has put forward motions to purchase Time Warner for something like $80 billion. Time Warner is of course the parent company of DC Comics/Entertainment. It’ll be interesting to see what happens with the properties if the deal goes through next year.
– Wonder Woman was appointed a United Nations Honorary Ambassador for the Empowerment of Women and Girls over the weekend. DC President Diane Nelson, Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins, Lynda Carter, and Gal Gadot accepted the ambassadorship on Wonder Woman’s behalf.
– Check out these awesome Harry Potter posters from Olly Moss.
