Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the weekend. Have a link to share? Email our team at rundown@multiversitycomics.com.

– Rafael Albuquerque is leaving “Batgirl” at the end of this current arc. He will be replaced by Christian Wildgoose, joining series writer Hope Larson on “Batgirl” #7, where Batgirl returns to Burnside. This should come as no surprise, since Albuquerque announced he planned to waste his time and talent on some new Mark Millar dumpster fire script. I mean, it’s one thing if he was planning to do more “American Vampire” or something, but qui est l’art et le commerce.
– Pepe the Frog has been deemed a hate symbol by the Anti-Defamation League. This is thanks to a series of deplorable memes featuring Pepe as a Nazi, a KKK-member, and a Trump supporter. Pepe originally appeared in Matt Furie’s “Boy’s Club” strips, of which Fantagraphics recently released a collected edition. Furie, for his part, has only offered a few statements about the misuse of his character, but has meanwhile tried to keep his distance from the fray.
– From September 29 to January 15, the Grand Palais in Paris is hosting “an extensive retrospective” of the work of Hergé. Best known as the creator of Tintin, Hergé and his team were a major influence on the Franco-Belgian/Euro-comics movement. This show will feature not pages of comic art, but also illustrations and advertisements he made throughout his career.
– According to Robert Kirkman, “The Walking Dead” comic and The Walking Dead TV show will not end the same way.
– Look: I have no clue how this could happen, and no less happen twice, but that doesn’t stop it from being downright hysterical.
