In case you missed it, we announced Papercutz’s “Asterix Omnibus” Vol. 12 will be released on May 21, 2024.

– Fantagraphics unveiled their Summer 2024 catalog. Included among the newly announced titles is “Kommix,” a new book by “Black Hole” creator Charles Burns, which imagines covers for 80 comics that don’t exist, inspired by the romance, horror, and sci-fi books of his youth during the 1950s and ’60s. The 80-page hardback release will marks Burns’s first English-language release since 2019’s “Free S**t,” as his most recent works, the “Dédales” trilogy, are still only available in French. It will retail for $24.99 on July 9, 2024. In the meantime, head to the link to check out all of Fantagraphics’ Summer 2024 releases.

– BOOM! Studios have announced the fourth installment of “The Amory Wars,” the sci-fi series created by Claudio Sanchez and Chondra Echert at their imprint Evil Ink Comics. The 12-issue series, titled “No World for Tomorrow,” will coincide with the 20th anniversary of the original comic next year, but can be preordered now through BackerKit. Based on the concept albums by Sanchez’s band Coheed and Cambria, “The Amory Wars” follows a conflict in an interconnected region of space called Heaven’s Fence. This series will adapt the fourth and final album, Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV, Volume Two: No World for Tomorrow, from 2007.

– Dark Horse will publish “Goblin: The Wolf and the Well,” a sequel to 2021’s graphic novel “Goblin,” reuniting writer Eric Grissom and artist Will Perkins. The book sees Rikt the goblin, and his best friend, the wolf Fish-breath, enrol at the boarding school Underwood, which they soon discover is not as safe as they believed. “With the help of a servant troll girl and a neurotic faun, Rikt must uncover the mystery of Underwood before he learns firsthand what horrors await at the bottom of an ancient well.” The book will be released on July 17, 2024.

– Oni Press and LibraryPass have formed a deal to make the publisher’s comics available via the Comics Plus app. Previously, only the titles published by Lion Forge Comics (which became an imprint of Oni in 2019) were available on the app. In the press release, Spencer Simpson, VP of Sales at Oni Press, says, “We’re excited to share our full catalog of published works through Comics Plus, from classics such as ‘Tea Dragon Society,’ ‘Mooncakes,’ and ‘The Sixth Gun,’ along with upcoming releases such as ‘The Happy Shop,’ ‘Covenant,’ and ‘Hobtown Mystery Stories.'”

– Per a purported screenshot of her Spotlight CV, The Witcher star Anya Chalotra has been cast as Circe in DC’s upcoming animated series Creature Commandos. Circe, a witch and goddess from Greek mythology, is traditionally a Wonder Woman foe in the comics and other DC media. As was previously explained by James Gunn, Chalotra’s casting leaves the door open for her to reprise the role in a live-action DC Studios project. Creature Commandos, also starring the voices of Frank Grillo, Indira Varma, David Harbour, Alan Tudyk, Zoë Chao, Sean Gunn, Maria Bakalova, and Steve Agee, will be released on Max sometime next year.

– Finally, comic art auction site Nerd Crawler shares that artist Frank Cho is auctioning a Power Girl pin-up to raise funds for victims of the Maui wildfires. “I’m excited to work with Chris and Nerd Crawler to auction a Power Girl piece and use the proceeds to help those impacted by the Maui fires,” Cho says in the press release. “It was really easy to create my official Nerd Crawler account, and I definitely plan to use Nerd Crawler to auction and sell more art and books.” 100 percent of the proceeds will be donated to Maui Comic Con and Maui Fire relief. The site also reminds readers you can help by donating to Maui Rapid Response.
