– Via IGN, comiXology and Scott Snyder’s Best Jackett Press have announced “By a Thread,” written by Snyder and his eldest son, Jack, with art by Valeria Favoccia, and colors by Whitney Cogar. The book is set on a world that has been decimated from infection: however, unlike other ‘zombie’ stories, this infection springs from the earth itself, which is no longer safe to walk on. Snyder said, “As a dad, I’m so proud and grateful to share this experience with him and we hope the fun we’re having creating it is evident when it’s released.” “By a Thread” is the first in a new lineup of comics to be revealed since Snyder renewed his partnership with comiXology. Snyder will be in attendence at Thought Bubble Comic Convention in North Yorkshire this weekend, with more information set to be revealed there.

– Marvel have announced “Ghost-Spider: Shadow Clones,” written by Emily Kim with art by Kei Zama. The five-issue miniseries will follow the Gwen Stacy of Earth-65, as she’s targeted by clones of herself based on Spider-Man’s greatest villains (which were designed by Peach Momoko.) Featuring a cover by David Nakayama, “Ghost-Spider: Shadow Clones” #1 will be available March 1, 2023.

– DC have announced “The Sandman Universe: Nightmare Country – The Glass House,” written by James Tynion IV with art by Lisandro Estherren. The follow-up miniseries will see the Corinthian arrive in Silicon Valley, where he will battle angels, demons, and venture capitalists. DC will also release “The Sandman Universe: Nightmare Country” Vol. 1 in two distinct formats. A collectible hardcover will be released with cover art by Alex Eckman-Lawn, and packaged with a mini-print of Death, as illustrated by Jenny Frison. The softcover edition will feature cover art by Reiko Murakami. “The Sandman Universe: Nightmare Country” Vol. 1 and “The Sandman Universe: Nightmare Country – The Glass House” #1 will release simultaneously on April 4, 2023.

– Via Popverse, DC have delayed “Waller vs. Wildstorm” until spring 2023. “Waller vs. Wildstorm” is written by Evan Narcisse and Spencer Ackerman with art by Eric Battle, and was originally set to launch on November 30, as part of the 30th anniversary celebrations for the Wildstorm universe. A reason for the change in release date was not given to retailers.

– Image have announced “The Department Of Truth: Wild Fictions Special” which collects “The Department Of Truth” #10 and #11, James Tynion IV and Martin Simmonds’s popular two-part Bigfoot story. In the announcement, Tynion said “It’s impossible to pick a favorite story from the first few years of ‘The Department of Truth,’ but the one that has brought the most people to my table at convention after convention is ‘A Hunter’s Story’… we can think of no better option as we start the drumbeat to ‘The Department of Truth’ #25.” “The Department Of Truth: Wild Fictions Special” will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, December 21, 2022.

– Image also announced they will conclude their 30th anniversary with a number of Spawn crossover variant covers (nearly 50 in total) this December. The news comes after DC Comics announced their own line of Spawn crossover covers to coincide with the release of the new “Batman/Spawn” one-shot this holiday season. Spawn was created by Image co-founder Todd McFarlane, and made his debut in 1992, the same year Image launched.

– Via ICv2, Battle Quest Comics have announced “The Trident of Aurelia,” a new miniseries from Lee Moyer and Melissa Spandri. Moyer is a former Dungeons & Dragons artist who won the 2022 Hugo award for Best Fan Artist, as well as the art director for Battle Quest. “The Trident of Aurelia” is set to launch in February 2023.

No details are known on the film at this time, other than it will follow Aang after the events of the original show (being dubbed internally as an “Aang Avatar film”), and be released theatrically. Lauren Montgomery, who worked as a storyboard artist on the third season, will direct the movie at Avatar Studios, with series creators Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino acting as co-producers.

– Via Empire, Studio Ghibli hinted at a collaboration with Lucasfilm by way of Twitter. No other information is available at this time. You can view the 15-second video here.

– Finally, Netflix have released a trailer for The Witcher: Blood Origin. Set more than a thousand years before The Witcher, this prequel follows seven outcasts as they face an unstoppable power in the ancient elven world. The Witcher: Blood Origin stars Sophia Brown, Laurence O’Fuarain, and Michelle Yeoh, and will debut December 25, 2022.
