In case you missed it, we we have an exclusive preview of “Spider-Gwen: Ghost-Spider” #2.

– 2000 AD have released their 2019 graphic novel line-up. Some of the highlights include writer Al Ewing (“immortal Hulk”) and artist Henry Flint (“Judge Dredd: Titan”)’s “Zombo – 2000 AD Digest,” which will release January 24; “Judge Dredd: Cold Wars” written by Micheal Carroll, Rob Williams and John Wagner with art by Trevor Hairsine, Dan Cornwell, Paul Davidson and Colin MacNeil, out March 7; “Brink” by writer Dan Abnett and artist INJ Culbard, which is slated to hit stores May 5; and “The Dark Judges: The Fall of Deadworld” Vol. 2, which is written by Kek-W and drawn by Dave Kendall, due out December 2019. The line-up also includes many collections of the classic Fleetway/IPC superheroes Rebellion acquired in 2016.
– Broken Frontier have exclusively revealed one of their site founders, Fredrick Hautain, will release their debut graphic novel “De Walvis” (“The Whale” in English) next year. He will be joined by collaborator, Hanne Dewatcher. The book will be released in Hautain’s native country of Finland in February: an English translation has yet to be announced.
– According to Bleeding Cool, DC Comics have had some issue reshuffling. “Batman” #61 will be replaced with issue #62’s planned story. “Doomsday Clock” #8 will now release December 12. “Batman: Damned” #2 will now be released on December 12, and finally, “Shazam” #2 will now hit stores January 23rd, despite having a festive cover. No details were given by DC about the reshuffle.
– Even though Venom received mixed reviews it has managed to gross $780 million at the worldwide box office. Justin Kroll from Variety revealed on his Twitter that Sony have announced two future release dates for their Venomverse Marvel properties in 2020. These are July 10, and October 2. Kroll states he think Morbius, starring Jared Leto as the movie’s lead, will be the July release, with Venom 2 releasing on October 2, 2019. For now this is just speculation, more information is to come.
– It seems that the plot of Once Upon a Deadpool was seemingly made up by writer and artist Michael Vincent Bramley, who tweeted actor Ryan Reynolds back in December 2017, “If Marvel forces you to make a PG-13 Deadpool, just copy the framing device from The Princess Bride and have Deadpool censoring it for Fred Savage as a bedtime story.” As you can see from the recently released trailer, the tweet and re-release are pretty similar, which Syfy first reported on. Bramley has now tweeted, “[Ryan Reynolds] and I had a brief talk and I believe he was as confused as I was. It seems like this may all just have been a big, insane coincidence and I’m happy with that.”
– It was Comic Con India this past weekend at the KTOP Trade and Convention Centre in the city of Bengaluru. According to Bleeding Cool, at the event every attendee got a free ‘goodie’ bag which included a free copy of “Saga” #1 by writer Brian K. Vaughan and artist Fiona Staples, a book intended for an older audience but which was given to every attendee, including children. Members of the public weren’t happy when said children brought these books home: one parent said to an Indian news service, The News Minute, “my wife saw it, the first pages and immediately took it away after noticing the material it contained.” Social media commentator and lawyer Debjani Aich filed an incident report against the organizers of the event at the local police station, stating the comic violates sections of India’s Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. Comic Con India have apologized, stating the comic was given away indiscriminately in error.
– In a follow up to the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina vs. The Satanic Temple case, Netflix and Warner Bros. have reached a settlement over the $50 million lawsuit. The court filed that the statue used in Sabrina closely resembled a statue the Satanic Temple uses at their church, and the show’s producers will add an acknowledgment in the show’s credits. The settled sum over the agreement will remain confidential.
– During an interview with The Beat, Ignatz Award-winning cartoonist Carta Monir talked about working on her first full length graphic novel called “I Want to be Evil,” which will be published by Youth in Decline. The book is about how the cartoonist came out as transgender just as her late mother was diagnosed with cancer. “I Want to be Evil” is in its early stages but Monir stated she is aiming for a 2019 release date, she stated “it’s largely focused on the last several months of my mother’s life and the struggles that I went through,” and that “It’s going to be longer than anything else I’ve ever done. I’m aiming for probably 180 pages.”
– Husband-and-wife writing team Christy Marx and Randy Littlejohn have started a GoFundMe page because their home was destroyed in the California wildfires. Marx is the creator of Jem and the Holograms and has worked on many animated TV shows and comic books, while Randy Littlejohn, her husband, has written for series like X-Men: Evolution and Kong: The Animated Series. They have thus far raised $12,797 of their $15,000 goal.
