In case you missed it, gay cartoonist Howard Cruse passed away aged 75, and HBO and The Atlantic teamed up to reexamine “The Massacre of Black Wall Street” depicted on Watchmen. We also have a video interview with “Bad Luck Chuck” creators Lela Gwenn and Matthew Dow Smith.

– Dynamite announced a new 128-page hardcover James Bond graphic novel called “Reflections of Death,” which will have a myriad of creators contributing to its pages (including Greg Pak, Benjamin Percy, Vita Ayala & Danny Lore, and Gail Simone). The hardcover will be available February 2020.

– A press release from Marvel detailed “Giant-Size X-Men: Magneto,” written by Jonathan Hickman and illustrated by Ben Oliver, which is the second of five one-shots the duo are working on. The one-shot will be made available in March, following “Giant-Size X-Men: Jean and Emma Frost” in February.

Deadline reports that the streaming service Starzplay has landed the UK rights to DC’s Doom Patrol. The show will be released there on January 2, 2020, ahead of the second season’s premiere on DC Universe and HBO Max next year.

– Through a Variety exclusive, we learned that James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad may be R-rated, along with Cathy Yan’s Birds of Prey. The lengthy report also says Geoff Johns is still writing another Green Lantern movie as well as the TV show with Greg Berlanti. It’s also made apparent that there won’t be any Superman films in the near future, and HBO Max Original films may have smaller budgets as a standard to keep costs low during production.

Skydance Interactive has launched an 10-episode podcast called Supernatural Skeptics Guide to New Orleans. The podcast will follow character Sarah Bennett, a host of a local New Orleans radio series investigating urban legends and paranormal tales, available now across all major audio platforms. The series will serve as a companion to the survival horror VR game The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners, due out January 23, 2020.

– Hasbro officially states there will be no “Baby Yoda” toys or merchandise from The Mandalorian until 2020. It comes as a surprise considering the rapidly growing popularity of, not only The Mandalorian series in Disney+, but also of the new “Baby Yoda” character.

– Lastly, David Meunier (Arrow) has joined Marvel’s Helstrom in the recurring role of “Finn Miller, a part of a secret organization that handles work not for the faint of heart.” The TV series will be available on Hulu in 2020.
