– Scott Buck has been named showrunner on the upcoming ABC/Marvel series, The Inhumans. Buck came from Dexter and had in fact been developing Netflix’s Iron Fist when he got this new gig. He also worked on such projects as Six Feet Under and Rome. The series is set to start Fall 2017, with the first two episodes being screened in IMAX theaters. All episodes of the program will be filmed with IMAX cameras.
– Vin Diesel recently revealed that James Gunn wants to do a Rocket Raccoon and Groot spinoff movie. He also teased about a future battle between Groot and Hulk.
– Legendary Pictures has struck a deal with LINE Webstoon to “develop new digital comic titles” exclusive to the LINE Webtoon platform. Titles will include the recently-launching “Firebrand: The Initiation of Natali Presano” by Jessica Chobot, Erika Lewis, and Claudia Aguirre. Line Webstoon has been making an effort to move toward developing more film and TV projects, including partnering up with the agency, CAA.
– Rich Veitch has unveiled the latest issue of his series, “Roarin’ Rick’s Rare Bit Fiends.” It’s the first issue in 20 years.
– Pixar has revealed some concept art and production notes for their upcoming film, Coco, or the movie where Disney tried to trademark the Day of the Dead. The voice cast includes Benjamin Bratt, Renée Victor, and Gael García Bernal and is directed by Lee Unkrich and Adrian Molina. The plot sounds suspiciously close to the other Día de los Muertos film, Day of the Dead and hits theaters November 2017.
