In case you missed it, Image Comics have announced that they will be publishing a translated version of Guillem March’s graphic novel “Karmen” as a five-part series. Also, Marvel Comics announced their first “Alien” comic book series will launch in March, and Dark Horse released their Mignolaverse solicitations for March.

– Via Newsarama, Jonathan Hickman has revealed the “X-Men” spin-off title “X-Corp” is still in development, with a replacement artist signed earlier this month. Hickman said, “Yes, we’re doing the X-Corp book. Everyone is very excited about it. We actually locked down both the interior and cover artist this week. I can’t remember which month it’s actually going to debut because the company has some funky scheduling coming up and we’re shifting things around, but there will be a formal announcement with the creative team and roster and all that soon.” “X-Corp” was originally announced in October 2019, with artist Carmen Carnero attached to draw and a planned February 2020 debut. Carnero has since moved on to “Miles Morales: Spider-Man.” Another book, a Moira McTaggert series was announced, but was also never released, with Hickman saying “The Moira book is a more complicated answer.” Stay tuned for an official announcement of the creative team behind “X-Corp.”
– ComicBook.com announced, in an exclusive, that Rob Liefeld will return to Marvel Comics to write and draw a story in the upcoming “Deadpool Nerdy 30” #1. The special anniversary one-shot will also include stories by Skottie Young, Kelly Thompson, Daniel Way, Fabian Nicieza, Joe Kelly, and Gerry Duggan & Brian Posehn. Leifeld said, “I couldn’t be a prouder Dadpool. Marvel is determined to throw a giant bash for our favorite Merc, (sorry, Mando), and I’m thrilled to join in all the outrageous fun. Happy 30th Birthday son!” “Deadpool Nerdy 30” #1 goes on sale in March 2021.
– Via ICv2, manga publisher Seven Seas Entertainment had a number of license announcements last week, including the return of “Lupin III” by the late Monkey Punch (Kazuhiko Kato). The series was first published in the late 1960s, with later chapters published in 1981. The story follows a super-criminal, the grandson of the legendary French thief Arsène Lupin. Tokyopop published the entire 14-volume series in the early 2000s, and the story has been adapted into numerous anime, feature films, and games. Seven Seas will publish a single-volume collection, titled “Lupin III: Greatest Heists” – The Classic Manga Collection” in November of 2021. Seven Seas also has a slew of other new licenses that were announced last week and can be found here.
– Yahoo! Finance reports that New Jersey native Trinity Jagdeo created comic books portraying superheroes with disabilities, after learning that her best friend was diagnosed with a rare disease. Alexus Dick was hospitalized for Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 2, which causes the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord to deteriorate. Jagdeo said that Alexus “had nobody to look up to while she was going through that battle,” and was determined to change that. After reaching out to Disney with no answer, Jagdeo went to her mother and the two started a non-profit in honor of Dick. Jagdeo has since created characters that her friend could relate to, and has written three comic books, two dedicated to Dick (‘Alice the Ace’ and ‘The We Can Squad Saves the Day’) and one dedicated to Dick’s brother (“Zappy Zane”), who also who also has spinal muscular atrophy. Jagdeo revealed the non-profit has donated wheelchairs, personal items, medical equipment, and around $10,000 in monetary donations within the past two years.
– Star Wars has announced Star Wars: The High Republic: The Rising Storm, the latest adult novel set in the time of the High Republic, written by Cavan Scott. Although not a direct sequel, Scott says his story will add to the events in Charles Soule’s novel Light of The Jedi, the first in a series of books and comics set in the High Republic. “The Rising Storm sees the Nihil taking their reign of terror to the next level, building on their appearances in Light of the Jedi and beyond,” Scott says. “Standing in their way this time are newly elevated Jedi Council member Stellan Gios, along with Padawan Bell Zettifar and an intriguing new character, the saber-for-hire Ty Yorrick who I’ve had a blast creating.” Star Wars: The High Republic: The Rising Storm will be available July 6, 2021. – Via Deadline, Marv Group CEO Zygi Kamasa has said that filmmaker Matthew Vaughn is plotting “something like seven more Kingsman films” as part of the company’s expansion plans. Currently, COVID-delayed prequel The King’s Man is due to hit theaters in February of next year. Kamasa also said “We have a Kingsman TV series in the works and there are two-three other franchises that are being developed alongside the Kingsman world.”
– Finally, via ComicBook.com, Ubisoft announced that Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game – Complete Edition, will officially release in January for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia. The rerelease was announced in September in celebration of the game’s 10-year anniversary. The new Complete Edition includes the original Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game, as well as the two DLC packs featuring Knives Chau and Wallace Wells. Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game- Complete Edition will be available January 14, 2021.
