Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at rundown@multiversitycomics.com.

– Focus Features has bought the rights to Daniel Clowes’s “Patience.” More than that, they tapped Clowes to write the screenplay. Of course, Clowes has written the scripts for his previous two adaptations, Ghost World (for which he was nominated for an Academy Award) and Wilson. “Patience” tells the story of a man who travels back in time to try to stop the murder of his wife. The comic was published by Fantagraphics in March 2016.
– Warner Bros. and DC have announced that Margot Robbie and David Ayer are re-teaming to adapt Gotham City Sirens. They’ve tapped Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Tomb Raider, Sherlock Holmes 3) to write the screenplay. Robbie joins Geoff Johns, Jon Berg, and Ayer as producers. No sign of any credit to Paul Dini. Gotham City Sirens has no release date as of yet, but it joins the Suicide Squad sequel and potential Deadshot spinoff in Tobeproducedlandia.
– The United Nations have dropped their petition to have Wonder Woman as an honorary ambassador for women and girls. No sooner had her role been announced that petitions from people who have no understanding of the character but have probably spent plenty of time looking at Jim Lee or David Finch’s art (I almost barfed saying at that) started protesting. “A large breasted, white woman of impossible proportions, scantily clad in a shimmery, thigh-baring body suit with an American flag motif and knee high boots,” the petition claimed, was not appropriate to help represent women. Of course, part of the reaction came out of the UN not finding “real” women as representation and naming António Guterres as the next secretary general after rejecting seven female candidates. “Wonder Woman stands for peace, justice and equality, and for 75 years she has been a motivating force for many and will continue to be long after the conclusion of her U.N. honorary ambassadorship,” said DC spokeswoman, Courtney Simmons to the New York Times.
– Archie has gone after Predator, met The Ramones, and battled xenomorphs. Come 2017, the gang from Riverdale will also be meeting up with the Tiny Titans. Art Baltazar and Franco will be the creators for the crossover.
– Manga publisher Yen Press has just debuted on comiXology. Yen Press’s catalog includes “Fullmetal Alchemist,” “Kingdom Hearts,” and “Black Butler.”
– I mean, if you have $35,000 to spare and enough space to fit a 1:7 scale model, this might be interesting to you….
