In case you missed it, the trailer for the rebooted Hellboy debuted yesterday.

– BOOM! Studios announced a new “Lumberjanes” original graphic novel from the same creative team behind “Lumberjanes: The Infernal Compass,” writer Lilah Sturges (“Jack of Fables,” “Fables: The Wolf Among Us”) and artist polterink (aka Claudia Rinofner). “Lumberjanes: The Shape of Friendship” follows Mal, Ripley, Molly, April & Jo as they discover a group of magical, shape-shifting creatures known as Pookas who attempt to “try life in the ‘Janes shoes.” The book will be released in November of next year.

– Speaking of BOOM!, they also revealed the redesign of Robin Wood from their upcoming “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” reboot. In the new series, Robin has been changed from a suit-wearing principal to captain of Sunnyvale High’s track team. There is no indication of what (if any) changes have been made to his back story. “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” #1 will be released on January 23, 2019.

– SYFY has released the pilot for their adaptation of “Deadly Class” online, almost a month before the series is set to debut on January 16, 2019. The adaptation of Rick Remender and Wes Craig’s Image series stars Benjamin Wadsworth (Teen Wolf), Benedict Wong (Doctor Strange), Lana Condor (’To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before), María Gabriela de Faría (Yo Soy Franky), Luke Tennie (Shock and Awe), Liam James (The Way Way Back), and Michel Duval (Señora Acero).

– Dark Horse Comics will release another Frozen mini-series in March 2019. “Disney’s Frozen: Reunion Road” will be a three-issue series from returning writer Joe Caramagna, layout artist Eduardo Francisco, line artist Eduard Petrovich, colorists Nastia Beloushova & Yana Chinstova, and letterer Comicraft. The story will follow Anna and Elsa as they attend a harvest festival in a neighboring kingdom.

– Dark Horse also announced a date for their English release of the Lynn Okamoto manga, “Elfen Lied.” Three of the original four volumes will be released as the 680-page “Elfen Lied Omnibus Volume 1” on May 22, 2019. The series has been cited as an inspiration for Netflix’s Stranger Things.

– Netflix has cast the remaining two Locke siblings for their adaptation of Joe Hill and Carlton Cuse’s “Locke & Key.” Connor Jessup (American Crime) and Emilia Jones (Utopia) will play Tyler and Kinsey Locke, joining Jackson Robert Scott’s (It) Bode Locke. Scott is the only member of the main cast to remain from the pilot developed for Hulu, before Netflix picked up the property and redeveloped the scripts.

– Upcoming Star Wars series, The Mandalorian, now has a composer in Ludwig Göransson. Göransson has previously written music for Black PantherVenom, and the Creed films, as well as collaborating with Donald Glover in his Childish Gambino persona.

– Ithaca College, a mid-size, nationally-ranked private college in New York, will offer the first-ever course on running a comic convention in the upcoming Spring 2019 semester. Students will “plan, manage, and market” the nearby Ithacon as part of the curriculum.

– Marvel will release the next single from the “ice-weilding K-pop star” Luna Snow, a character created for their MARVEL Future Fight mobile game, on December 28. “I Really Wanna” has vocals by Hyngseo (a member of Busters) and Krysta Youngs.

– And lastly, the DC Universe app is now available on Amazon Fire TV, the only major streaming platform not to have the service.
