In case you missed it, a new Over the Garden Wall comic is coming from BOOM! Studios, Jonathan Case and John Golden; and Image Comics’ “Sex,” by Joe Casey and Piotr Kowalski, is coming back as a graphic novel, “Sex: World Hunger.”

– Marvel’s “Star Wars” is premiering a new series of one-shots with “Age of Rebellion;” issues will focus on heroes like Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, Han Solo and Lando Calrissian, and villains like Darth Vader, Boba Fett, Jabba the Hutt and Grand Moff Tarkin. While the one-shots are written by Greg Pak, April’s “Age of Rebellion Special” will be created by Marc Guggenheim, Jon Adams, Si Spurrier, Caspar Wijngaard and Andrea Broccardo.
– Squirrel Girl is joining Marvel’s next event, ‘War of the Realms,’ with “Unbeatable Squirrel Girl” #43 crossing over with the event. Squirrel Girl was previously excluded from events because she was simply too powerful.
– In further ‘War of the Realms’ news, “Venom” #13 is crossing over; Malekith will recruit Venom into his war. “Venom” #13, written by Cullen Bunn with art by Iban Coello, drops in April. Also announced was “War of the Realms: War Scrolls,” written by Jason Aaron and illustrated by Andrea Sorrentino, which will be a limited anthology series chiefly about Daredevil, who gains the power of the Bifrost and is able to see throughout the Marvel Universe. Secondary stories will follow Howard the Duck, by returning team Chip Zdarsky and Joe Quinones, and more.
– The latest Humble Bundle features over 9600 pages comics from Dynamite, in $1, $8, $15 and $18 tiers. Comics include “John Wick” #1 – 3, “Bob’s Burgers” volumes 1 and 2, “Battlestar Galactica” volumes 1 – 3 and more.
– According to the consulting firm ICO Partners, comic books on Kickstarter raised $15.9 million over 1,456 projects in 2018. That’s an 27 percent increase over 2017, with 1,281 projects.
– Dr. Isabel Hanson wrote and Australian cartoonist Safdar Ahmed illustrated a comic for The Guardian about compassion in health care. Read it here.
– Tom King is giving out free DC graphic novels to government employees affected by the national shutdown at Third Eye Comics in Annapolis, Maryland. Show a government ID on January 19 and you will receive a free graphic novel or comic, while supplies last.
– After being pulled yesterday due to parent complaints, “Drama” by Raina Telgemeier is back on Catholic elementary library shelves in Ottawa. The book was pulled due to its portrayal of same-sex relationships. In a statement with CTV Ottawa, the school board said, “The Ottawa Catholic School Board has listened to educators, parents, stakeholders & ratepayers and is giving access to ‘Drama’ in elementary libraries for readers ages 10 and up. This is also the recommendation of Scholastic (publisher) and Common Sense Media. We remain fully committed to having safe, inclusive, and accepting schools.”
– Finally, Syfy’s Happy! begins its second season March 27.
