Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at rundown@multiversitycomics.com.

– In an effort, supposedly, reduce scalpers, New York Comic Con has set up ‘fan verification’ for all ticket holders. This means that each ticket holder – not just ticket buyer – needs to have an online form filled out, almost like a profile, before being able to enter the convention. While I understand trying to prevent scalpers, this seems like an insane idea. They are also removing all physical sales, including at comic shops, which means that it is eliminating yet another way for people to get into the con.
Not to get on a high horse here, but not everyone who wants to go to NYCC has a credit card, so having online only sales eliminates those folks. Ditto an internet connection, or the desire to give all their information to a giant corporation. This is, essentially, creating a class system of fans, and keeping the lower class out. Not a good look, ReedPOP.
– Ahead of next week’s ‘Rebirth’ start, DC has tossed its weird gummi bear/page turning logo, and creating a new logo, one that is more ‘classic’ looking, without necessarily reverting back to an old look. Personally, I think it looks good, but it also sort of looks like Deadpool’s mask, as many have pointed out. I’m interested to see how it looks when I hold it in my hands.
– Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will be moving to 10pm on Tuesdays next year, another sign that ABC has lost a little faith in the show, but also a sign that the show has little to no interest in attracting a younger audience (which, to be fair, the show’s tone wouldn’t work for anyway).
– IDW’s August solicitations have been released, and they have five new series debuting in August – some not really ‘debuting,’ as much as returning, but the lineup is pretty solid. Check it out here.
– Dynamite, perhaps in an effort to compete with yesterday’s Valiant Summit, declared yesterday “Dynamite Day,” and announced a few new series, including a Cullen Bunn-penned/Alex Sanchez illustrated “Battlestar Galactica” series. Check out all the announcements here.
– Robert Kirkman’s “Demonic,” which was a 2010 Top Cow Pilot Series title, will return as an ongoing Skybound series, scripted by Multiversity favorite Christopher Sebela and illustrated by Niko Walter.
– Remember how Marvel announced that Rogue One prequel comic? Well, it looks like it may not be happening now. Hey, at least we got more details about the film, right?
– And finally, they had to have known they’d get hop ons, right?
