Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the weekend. Have a link to share? Email our team at rundown@multiversitycomics.com.

– Of course the biggest news from the weekend came from the Star Wars Celebration Europe, where we got a behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming “Rouge One: A Star Wars Story”, along with a new poster; the announcement that David S. Goyer will be collaborating with LucasFilm to develop a “virtual-reality ‘story experience’ about Darth Vader” (ed. I always thought LucasFilm was smart enough not to hire David S. Goyer, but alas, here we are); a first look at the new season of “Star Wars: Rebels,” complete with a big bad making his way back to the canon: Thrawn (make sure to follow our coverage when the show returns this fall!); Alden Ehrenreich being formally introduced as young Han Solo; and so much more. Disney’s really behind “Star Wars”, and Kathleen Kennedy is happy to step back and let the filmmakers bring their personal vision and experience to the projects.
– For those of you looking forward to “The Killing Joke” adaptation for some reason, Mark Hamill took a couple minutes out of his spotlight panel to talk about the project. He says it “earns its R-rating” and is “not for kids” before launching into his Joker voice. Honestly, the only reason this movie deserves any attention is because Mark Hamill will be playing the Joker, and, much like Kevin Conroy to Batman, he has defined the role.
– Looks like the Court of Owls will be making their way onto “Gotham” for Season 3.
– Announced over a year ago, “Archie Meets Ramones” will finally be arriving in a comic shop near you! The latest crossover is, according to Alex Segura, “a fun, rockin’, and heart-felt extra-seized adventure.” Segura is joined by writer Matthew Rosenberg and artist Gisele to ensure “Riverget gets a rock ’n’ roll high school” this October.
– Although they haven’t yet made their way to Diamond, some of Fantagraphics’ upcoming books have started popping up on Amazon, including this gem. To see some prime example of Hernandez’s artwork, check out our Artist August feature.
