Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at rundown@multiversitycomics.com.

– Hellboy is dead. Long live Hellboy! Next May, Mike Mignola and Gary Gianni are putting Hellboy out on the high seas in the new original graphic novel, “Hellboy: Into the Silent Sea.” This will be the first Hellboy OGN in six years, and apparently takes place right after 2005’s “The Island.”
– 20th Century Fox has tapped Emily Carmichael to helm the Lumberjanes movie adaptation. First announced May 2015, the film is set to be written by Will Widger. Carmichael is currently working on Powerhouse at Amblin and the screenplay for Pacific Rim 2 with Kira Snyder.
– Remember that tantrum Frank Cho threw about a month ago? Well, it looks like DC’s human resource people have done some juggling or something because he’s now drawing the variant covers for “Harley Quinn”. Jenny Frison is taking over “Wonder Woman” variant duties.
– Frank J. Barbiere and Victor Santos are getting in on the crime-comics action with “Violent Love”, debuting from Image later this November. Barbiere and Santos worked together on “Black Market” from Boom! They center their new story on a couple criminals who fall in love with each other, though they don’t really like each other. No word from Barbiere on “Five Ghosts”’s status, though.
– Brian Smith, MK Reed, and Molly Ostertag are debuting a new book through Lion Forge’s all ages imprint, Roar Comics. “The Castoffs” promises magic, mechanics, and mayhem, all coming at you this October.
