– Way back in 2014, Marvel announced that the third part of the Avengers franchise was going to split, Harry Potter-style, into two movies: Avengers: Infinity War — Part I and Avengers: Infinity War — Part II. Then, just a couple months ago, the directors of the upcoming film, The Russo Brothers, said that Marvel and Disney were looking to retitle the next Avengers movie, because they weren’t making a film split in two after all. Now Part II doesn’t seem to exist at all anymore. It’s not clear whether or not Kevin Feige and the Russos managed to compact the story down into one workable movie or if this just reflects the title change the Russos spoke about, but Avengers: Infinity War is still set to release in May 2018.
– Bill Sienkiewicz discovered 20th Century Fox had created a promotional 12” Dazzler record (featuring a painting he had completed years ago) for last spring’s X-Men: Apocalypse when a bunch of fans brought up the album to him at San Diego Comic Con. The problem was, Sienkiewicz had no idea it existed. What especially peeved Sienkiewicz was that Fox didn’t even extend the courtesy of telling him they were using the material, credit his name on it, or provide him a comp copy of the record. “It’s like losing two trifecta wrapped in an altogether indifferent fuck you,” he said.
– J. Michael Straczynski has quit writing comics. He now wants to spend his time writing novels and plays.
– Jared Leto really wants to go up against Ben Affleck’s Batman.
