Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at either david@multiversitycomics.com or brian@multiversitycomics.com.

– ABC entertainment president Paul Lee has said that he is, “very optimistic” about the network’s latest Marvel series Agent Carter, despite lower than expected ratings. It seems as if ABC is counting on DVR playback and Hulu views to boost the series’ low next-day number. Meanwhile, Captain America: Civil War screen writer Stephen McFeely was quoted by IGN speculating about how the events of Agent Carter may impact the cinematic universe. Could this be enough to give the series a bump when it returns next week with its fourth episode?
– It’s been confirmed that Fox is in talks with X-Files creator Chris Carter about rebooting the hit series. EW reports that the hope is that series stars Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny will reprise their roles, which would make this whole thing sound more like a relaunch than a reboot. Will the IDW published, Carter produced X-Files Season 10 comic still be canon if this happens? Who knows. All I know is that between this and Twin Peaks, Duchovny’s going to have a lot of special agenting on his plate.
– Speaking of Fox shows, I think Donal Logue as Detective Harvey Bullock was an inspired bit of casting, only to be topped by John Doman as Carmine Falcone. I guess what I’m trying to say is that I think Fox’s Gotham is pretty alright and I’m totally excited to see that it’s been given a second season.
– In this Latino Review piece about how the next Fantastic Four movie may or may not be a mess it has been revealed that there will be an FF teaser running ahead of Kingsman: The Secret Service, which hits theaters on February 13.
– French cartoonist Gilles Roussel, better known as Boulet, has posted a new comic online. It’s a study of light as water done with minimally animated panels, and is absolutely fantastic. You should go read it. Is this ‘comics news’? Not really. But I like it and hope you will, too.
