Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at rundown@multiversitycomics.com.

– Continuing their current trend of putting their most mediocre in-house writers on the Star Wars tie-in books, Marvel has given Charles Soule the “Poe Dameron” series for some reason. This is the first comic to feature characters from the latest Star Wars movie, The Force Awakens. Maybe as compensation, they got Phil Noto to draw it, but this is Star Wars, which launched with some of their best talent, and, at the risk of editorializing, I wish they would let it be fresh and interesting instead of so…conservative and bland.
– Connie Nielsen has joined the cast of the upcoming Wonder Woman movie, starring Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, and directed by Patty Jenkins. Nielsen will be playing Diana’s mother, Hippolyta. Chris Pine also recently confirmed that the movie will be taking place during the First World War. Wonder Woman is slated to be released June 2017.
– DC has announced that their major variant cover theme in April will be artwork from John Romita, Jr. This follows previous artist-centered months from Darwyn Cooke and Neal Adams.
– Do Jessica Jones fans have a fandom name yet? Because good news for all of you, Netflix has renewed the show for a second season.
– Following the true PR disaster that is The Grand Prix de la ville d’Angoulême, the people at Nat. Brut have assembled a collection of female and non-binary comics creators to further discuss what went wrong. It’s well worth reading, and, best of all, may help further expand your own reading pile.
– Later this year, Marvel Comics will be introducing a new Wasp to their All-New All-Different (But Not Really) line. It will apparently not be Janet van Dyne; this will be the first new Wasp in 53 years and Marvel fans will get their first glimpse of her in a Free Comic Book Day special.
– On Friday, we asked if the upcoming Marvel/DC Superhero Comedy TV shows have any appeal to you. Most of you, 38% of the voters, are approaching it with an open mind, saying, “Sure. Why not?” But 21 of you are totally not on board at all. 14 peeps have already worked out their evening primetime schedules, while 13 of you didn’t care and would rather be eating a pizza.
